Shadow Mountain Designated Dispersed Campsite #22

We were trying to find a dispersed campsite that wasn’t crowded. We tried a few others but it was just too packed for our taste. Saw this road and tried it.

Success!

The road is gravel and nice for the first couple miles. When you turn off onto the forest service road, it turns into a washed out, potholes, river rocks sticking out mess. It was a slow go but we made it. When you get into the National Forest, you come to this big parking area that has a few designated sites. You can keep driving on the road which turns into a washed out mess and there are more campsite along the road.

If able, keep going! When you get to the top there are sites with views of the Tetons. But keep going! Just keep following the road and you come into the most amazing campsites with awesome views. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay in those due to pulling an airstream, but if you are tent camping. They are amazing.
