“Great view of the mountains!”

Arrived around 2:00pm. There were several larger campers at the base of the mountain. I headed up the mountain road. I was in a Honda Ridgeline and had no issues. The road was in good condition and it should be doable in most cars. There was a sign recommending against taking larger campers, but I passed a pretty large trailer at a campsite. More people arrived over the course of the afternoon and a few people drove through my campsite before realizing it was occupied. Things seemed to settle down around 5:30pm. It’s super quiet and the view is amazing! I camped at a site near the top.

I had planned to camp in one of three other dispersed campsites on this road but when I arrived early in the afternoon on Thursday, those sites were occupied. #15 was occupied by a solo tent camper. I stopped to talk to her and she said she was leaving in a couple of hours and invited me to go ahead and set up camp. The road to this site is describe in reviews of the many designated sites on this road. Not much to add other than there are a few spots where I’d rather not meet a larger rig coming up or going down. My truck/camper combo is 45’ long and the camper is 8’ wide, so I need some space if I meet another vehicle. The views here are spectacular and although the site is close to the road, the traffic has been minimal and people are driving pretty slowly so dust isn’t a problem. The space is large enough for more than one occupant. A French couple from Ottawa camped behind my camper last night in a small SUV with a rooftop tent. I was able to find a spot for my camper that is pretty level front to back, built I had to drive up on levelers on the side facing the Grand Tetons because the slope was too great to level solely with the airbags on my Kimberley. Cell coverage with Verizon has been spotty.
