“Very nice and quiet and little traffic. ”

I stayed one night and the weather was nice and the spot was very nice up on a small hill. I wanted to be in a spot that was not too secluded because it was my first time there and I wanted to get a feel for the number of visitors. I would estimate that only 20 vehicles passed by in the 15 hours I was at the site. I did experience a strange event when I was woken up at about 2am to the strangest howl I had ever heard. The animal would howl/bark 2 or 3 times every few minutes as it made its way through the forest. Whole event lasted about 20 minutes.

“Free Camping Close to Prescott”

Overall Rating

We arrived on a Saturday when there were a bunch of ATVers going up and down the dirt road portion of Senator Highway. The activity died down during the week with the exception of the occasional truck speeding around the blind curves.

We had 2 Airstreams and a van comfortably occupying spot 4 and 5. The campsites share a loop with a fire ring in the middle. There is a level area at the top of the loop by the road and farthest from the road there is another somewhat level area. We had no problem getting enough sun on our panels to stay charged.

Both Verizon and AT&T were strong and didn't need a booster. We were also able to get over-the-air TV, including CBS (our favorite morning show).
