Stayed at site 1. Roomy site with a covered picnic table. Great sunset views of the desert and mountains! Definitely recommend the guided tour of the canyon. No Verizon coverage but no issues with Starlink.

Hookups (elec & water) - all good; pull-thru site was handy for a quick overnight; clean bathrooms and dump station. Barely got intermittent one bar cell service on Verizon and my booster didn’t help at all. BUT there is an open wifi connection with the state park service here. It is slow but works if you need to communicate via text/email. But hey, just enjoy a peaceful disconnected night of sleep. This is a great spot to camp otherwise. Very dark at night for some star gazing! Highly recommend.

I did the 8.5 loop walk to the Rio Grande River (which is a creek in March). I witnessed destruction of the hiking trail/cliffs as I walked by a group of kids and reported it but why why why??? The site 27 was level with a covered picnic table. Did not use fire ring due to high winds and burn ban from drought.

We had only booked one night at this park as a stopover for passing through. I wish we'd camped at least 3-4 nights. There were many trails that we didn't have time to take and so much to see! The sky was dark and full of stars at night and the sunset was amazing!

Campground sits up on a bluff, today and tomorrow is windy. Guided canyon tour ($8) sounds very interesting. Each camp site has a covered table about 20' away. Office folks are nice.

This was a really nice place to visit - The morning Pictograph guided tour - AWESOME! The office doubles as a beautifully-done historical museum - rivaling national park displays! Get up close to see the ancient pictographs in a safe guided walk. The campground is quite limited - but if you have an electric site, or solar panels, - you are good to go for a long time as there is nothing to block the sun. Water hookups were either shared, placed halfway between two sites, disconnect after you fill up your water tank - or on-site if you also have an electric site. I will note the sites are NARROW strips of asphalt. All around you are desert plants with spines - and you have a covered picnic table. Everything is very very dry and no fires were allowed. Very few large back-in sites in Desert Vista can accommodate an RV longer than 35' - it is tight! However if you have solar and have filled your water tank - the Roadrunner sites are paved pull-thru's and many are easily long enough for 44' (my opinion - check satellite images!) The Desert Vista sites (end of March 2022) were very windy - steady around 20mph and gusts to 40mph.

The electric and water hookups were quite new and the site #23 was fairly level. There is plenty of space between sites. Very quiet at night and extraordinary stargazing. The sunset view from this site is terrific. WiFi was very weak, almost nonexistent, unless you are near the restrooms or at the visitor center. No Verizon service. Restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. Trails are well marked and maintained. I recommend the Canyon Rim Trail as the most scenic. Bring sunscreen and water, this is a desert environment. Best sites for desert view are 26, 5 & 3.

We really enjoyed our stay at Seminole. Did the Canyon Rim trail, bring binoculars as that was the only way we could see the pictographs across the river. Campsite was great and the bathroom/showers were fantastic. Perfect stop to overnight.
