“Smaller pebble beach but huge shady grassy picnic area. ”

Campground and beach area are located together which means most campers walk to the beach. As such, parking areas for the beach are smaller but seemed adequate on a weekday in July. Can’t speak for the weekends.
There are two main beach areas separated by a large, grassy, shady park space that is lovely for relaxing or walking your dog. The east beach is dog-free while the west beach is the dog beach. The west beach is actually nicer and goes on a ways with ample tree cover – a really pretty spot that reminded me of Florida. You can easily walk through the park from one beach to the other.
Beaches are pebbly and water was murky with algae and debris but still swimmable. If you prefer calm clear water and sandy beaches, try Port Burwell.
Campground has tree cover but seemed sunnier overall. Ample sites available even in summer you shouldn’t need a reservation during the week. Comfort stations with showers, some electric sites and a sani-dump station.
Decent cell signal in the park.

Selkirk has a reputation for being dowdy. There's no sandy beach to speak of, and because it started life as a private park, it doesn't look and feel like most other Provincial Parks.
Having said that, we adore Selkirk for both early spring and late fall camping. If most Provincial Parks try to be as close to the wilderness as possible, camping in Selkirk is like camping in a well manicured garden. There's acres of grass, sites are huge, there are ample trees for hammocks, a great playground, rocks from which to throw stones into the water of Lake Erie. It's a perfect place to camp with friends, let the kids run around and sit around the fire with a beer. Even the biggest rigs will find ample space.
Both comfort stations and laundry facilities were a little tired (but clean) the last time we visited, but we heard that they were due to be upgraded in 2016 - we've got a visit booked for end of May, I will update the review once we've been back.
