“Very remote, but peaceful right on the shores of Moosehead Lake”
Reviewed Mar 13, 2015
If you are looking for a very remote and peaceful campground, look no further. You will find no cell phone signal and power only for a few hours of the day. To get here you will have to drive or tow through more than 13 miles of dirt roads that can sometimes be challenging to navigate, but once you make it there you will quickly find out it was all worth it.
You can camp right on the shoreline and have your own little private beach. Yes the waterfront sites offer no privacy whatsoever but that is the cost of having your own little beach.
Sites have water, and they run the generator for a few hours a day in order to recharge your batteries. They also have an onsite dump.
Make sure you bring everything you need with you, food, coffee, creamer, everything! You will not find a store for more than 20 miles.
This campground is the perfect place to launch some exploratory trips through the North Maine Woods, go swimming on the lake, go canoeing or kayaking, or just simply relax.
