“Fun location with great views”

We were looking for a place that would be convenient to visit the town of Hope. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don's use the facilities. We stayed on a Thursday in late August. This CG is at the end of the road on Main Street with views of Turnagain Arm and the Chugach Mountains. It's a dirt parking lot with logs separating the sites. Sites are primitive (no hookups) or electric only. Some are pull through while others are back in. They're mostly level. The sites are in full sun with no trees for shade or privacy. There are portable toilets on site and trash cans. There's no water or dump. There's good ATT and Verizon cell service. Although the spaces are a bit tight, we enjoyed the location, vibe and views.

“Now this is Alaska”

A small RV park – really just a parking lot – takes up the majority of the parking area beside the Cafe and Bar. Here we have been staying the past few days. We took the corner site with nothing blocking our view across a huge expanse of grassy marshland, over the Turnagain Arm, and to the mountains behind. I love it!

If you like to fish, you will want to stay here. The river beside the RV park is the place to be all day. At night, the bar comes to life, with a packed house including live music many nights of the week.

I give a lot of 3-stars as the RV park itself is not much to speak of, but all that goes away when you get to camp with THAT view!

Mali Mish – Hope, Alaska.

Let me tell you something. Hope, Alaska is as cute as it sounds. It’s located on the northern end of the Kenai Penninsula and sits just across the water from where Dan surfed the Turnagain Arm bore tid...

Mali Mish – Hope, Alaska... Once again.

On our way back north from Homer, we had to stop in the teeny town of Hope for one last visit. Our last stay a few weeks ago was way too short for our liking. This time we lucked out with the prime spo...

I was not sure what to expect from Hope when we left Anchorage. I knew it was a quaint town on the water of the Turnagain Arm, but nothing prepared me for just how cool it is. The entire town...
