Stayed at the Cottage Creek location but same lake. Not sure why Cottage Creek doesn't show up on the map, but it's near the Marina but still a drive down with your boat. We camped in our trailer. No hookups but we knew that going in. Spent 2 nights and loved it. Bears didn't bother us although they are a real concern.

Stayed the very last week that they were open for the season. The CG is really nice. The sites seem well spaced. There is downed (cut) trees and logs everywhere, so firewood was in abundance, but I think there was a fire ban. The lake is a good 1/2 mile hike from the CG, but it's on a very nice trail. There is downed (cut) trees and logs everywhere, so firewood was in abundance, but I think there was a fire ban. The lake is a good 1/2 mile hike from the CG, but it's on a very nice trail. I caught a bunch of bass and bluegill, so fishing was good.
I can see, however, where this CG would be a zoo in the prime season. And, I'm sorry to say, it's the campers IMO that are, well, the weekenders who are extremely selfish. One of my neighbors decided to put his generator facing my site, even though the site on the opposite side was vacant. He then ran his generator ALL day long, and well past "quiet" hours. My neighbors on the other side of me (only 10% of the sites were occupied...of course both next to me were also) had three big dogs...never restrained. They ran right through my site, riling up my dogs. The three dogs probably don't know what a leash is. I have a story for those of you who never restrain your "friendly" dogs: I met, at a campground, a combat veteran, about 30 years old. I met him because we were watching an off-leash dog roam the CG. He told me that he was attacked by a dog (he showed me his scars) and that his PTSD kicked in when he saw off leash dogs - this guy was basically freaking out. So, to those of you selfish people - keep this in mind: do you WANT to risk causing anguish to someone? My dogs have been attacked three times by off leash dogs (I now walk around with bear spray just for dogs). ALL campgrounds have leash rules.
And yes...there are bears. Had one visit two nights in a row.
Four stars because I don't blame the facility for bad neighbors.

T-Mobile is voice only, very limited/no data due to their single low-frequency tower even though you get 4 bars of 4G/LTE.

Enjoyed three nights at this Campground over Memorial Weekend. The weather was off and on rain which made for a more mellow holiday weekend. The sites are spread out and have lots of trees creating natural barriers and more private spots. The pads in some spots are small and narrow, so If bringing an RV make sure you pay attention to dimensions when booking. Family friendly atmosphere, kids rode their bikes around the whole time. Plan to bring extra bug spray, mosquitos are bad. Would for sure come back here! Hopefully next time we can enjoy some sunshine and the lake!

Tucked deep in the forest alongside the Bullards Bar Reservoir, this campground is a great spot for getting away from it all and immersing yourself in nature. The sites are widely spaced with generous sized sitting areas (just watch out for the mosquitos). Despite the thick tree cover, we managed the find the sole site with enough sun for our solar panels (site 30). There are no hook-ups, no showers, and no dump station. But there is an excellent network of hiking/biking trails, and a gorgeous lake for boating.
