Sawmill Park

This campground has vault toilets and no running water. There is only one old-style water pump to get water. There's no camp host so the campers who were there were off-the-hook rude.... obnoxiously loud, screaming kids, and generator operated construction flood lights until well after 11 pm. The lake water level is high so the "beach" is unimproved muck and mud. Cell service is spotty at best.

This is a place we visited when I was a child and it hasn't changed much. The cost of camping is $10/night and if reserving online, an additional one time $8 fee. The water is incredibly clear. Weekday camping is quiet and peaceful. Nothing compares with the mournful sound of the loons on the lake. There are plenty of lakes, trails and fishing. It's a "No motor" lake great for padding kayaks or canoes.
