We had no electric and there were not a lot of people and everyone was quiet. It was so nice. They had electric hookups near the water further down but most people were there. There is a shared water spigot but it is longer then 25ft away so bring just to fill or a longer hose. The sites are not leave so make sure you accommodate for that. But it is worth it. It costs $26.00 and we were able to sit at the water all night

The longer RV watefront sites are nice - some shorter than others and some very close to others. We were out in a center loop area, which was a bit wonky to find - kind of a rat maze. Site was fine - long & a bit of leveling had to be done on our passenger side. Also, had to hold back a sapling on the passenger side when backing in (could use a trim). Campground was pretty full and so many smoldering fires that is was smoky - smoke was just hanging in the air. That's not the campground's fault though... Lots of acorns dropping on the top of the RV. Shower was hot & great!
We are full-time and have been to a LOT of campgrounds - this one is great for families and people that want to have their friends in the site next door. To me it was just ok - not as nice as some of the others around the lake.

We like this campground for its waterfront sites and good views. Our early March stay was very quiet since there were few campers there. The weather was awful, but that's not the campground's fault. We'll be back again.

We camped for a week here and it was very quiet as it was the week before Thanksgiving. We enjoyed our stay. We had a partial view of the lake which was nice. A couple of days it was pretty windy. There aren't a lot of hiking trails in the immediate vicinity but we found that on the Virginia side of Kerr Lake there were some very nice ones. We probably would of hiked more there, but it was hunting season. We also went down to Raleigh which is about an hour away. There are wonderful bike trails all around the city and countryside down there. If you like to fish and boat, Kerr lake is a wonderful place. The bathrooms were adequate. Probably could do with some updating. There is a small playground for the kids. They also have a couple of handicapped sites that looked to be paved but small.
While we prefer Jordon Lake when we are in the area, this is also a very nice campground and would stay again.
For the record, no one was at the gate and the gate was not locked at night. Not sure if this is because we were camping in Nov.

Saturday mornings were busy with boat traffic but the rest of the week was quiet. The bathhouse was fairly new and cleaned frequently. Not a lot of hiking in the area but there is a small trail you can do from the campground. We never saw anyone working other than rangers checking on things during the day, there is a host site but it was empty. Overall a great campground, especially if you want to be on the water. Weekends get crowded but nearly empty during the week in the spring.

Midweek in March was a peaceful and quiet time to be in this beautiful area. Views of the lake were great. This was our second stay here, and there will be no hesitation in coming back as long as we can get a waterfront site.

I recommend using a campground map to find one's way around since there are lots of loops within loops in the design. I have to admit that this design help maximize the usage of the available space though. Also, make sure you have two lengths of hose for your water hookup. We had to search for our hookup, and it took two lengths to reach it.
We'll definitely return here in the future. We had a very relaxing weekend.

The lake is beautiful and full of fish. There’s a nice beach and shower house. Peaceful and empty when we were there on a Thursday.
Our campsite was on the water and there were no bugs or mosquitoes. We didn’t want to leave this wonderful place.
Check in was interesting since we didn’t have a reservation. The lady at the gate didn’t know what to do. She told us to call Reserve America. But they cannot do same day reservations.
We talked to the Ranger and he knew what to do. They have a list of campsites that aren’t reserved and you can pay and pick anyone of the open ones.
Cell coverage was spotty. Most of park i only had phone service, no data, on Sprint network.
