For $10-$15 I tend to expect potable water, however it is not available here. I came from Encampment where their rv park water access was out of commission so we’ve been treading lightly on water. The local dump station In Saratoga doesn’t have potable water either. I called city hall and was told to call the two local gas stations. One didn’t answer and the Conoco said they charge 50 cent a gallon with the water being located beside front doors past gas pumps.
The campground itself has a good bit of traffic thru the night and since your site is right beside the roads it can be disconcerting. Several large pick ups came flying thru in the night.
That said, the sunrises over the lake and mtns behind it are worth a $10 fee. There are Whooping Cranes and various other birds. We camped on the bottom loop that sits more solitary and it was filled with ground squirrels I enjoyed watching.
The winds pick up in the evening but it stays pretty calm thru day. Hobo hot springs is free, nearby, an easy drive, large parking lot, and has showers and changing rooms! I haven’t checked it out yet but can’t imagine it won’t be worth it.
Just remember to fill up on water or be prepared to navigate small town gas stations and pay.

There was more traffic both on the road above the campground and through the campground. A number of the drive throughs were not campers. The view is still good and I enjoyed the birds. Saw a female Mountain Blue Bird, Osprey, Brewers Black Birds, Cowbirds, gulls and White Pelicans.Bald Eagles were spotted both sides of Saratoga. The Hot Springs is fabulous. Big parking area so you can take your rig to the springs. No camping in parking lot. Remember, no potable water in the campground! If you are traveling with kids or dogs pay attention to the very stickery weeds in the third level. Lots of ouchie potential. All in all great place to stay but we ran a fan because of the noise.

Draining the lake because someone put yellow perch in lake. Unlimited fishing with license. 15$ electric, 10 $ dry. 50 spots total. Busy. We where able to snag a spot arriving Friday 730 pm. It didn’t sell out . .
Warning! No potable water! Dump across the street.

Nice spot for an overnight.

Quiet and peaceful.
Road was real easy to get in, not any worse than any of the county roads in WY.
I’d give this a 5 stars for a low cost overnight in the summer heat, BUT I missed the reviews, or no one said anything about the mosquitos.
We’re not ones to be afraid of a few bugs, but we were swarmed just as the beautiful sunset came out. We ditched all our stuff outside and ran for inside from 1,000s of mosquitos. Just be prepared - bug spray won’t save you.
Spots were really clean considering there isn’t a camp host or manager on-site. The pit toilets were a little messy, but I’ve seen worse. They’re only as clean as the last person who used them.
We were there on a Thursday night during the heat wave of June and there was about 1/4 of the power sites taken.
Sites was ultimately really quiet. A few rzrs running around, but they called it quits right before the bugs.

We got there pretty late but the rates are honor system so we were able to drop cash in a drop box - the site is clean and peaceful. The lake has lots of different birds and some other small animals. There’s a drop toilet and some faucets for water but the water isn’t drinkable.

We tent camped here for 2 nights in early June 2019. Tent sites are $10 per night. The campground in general is suffering from a lack of upkeep. Many tent sites are uneven, bumpy, or rutted from wear and tear. Picnic tables are dilapidated. There are water hydrants but nearby signs now say the water is non-potable due to high mineral content. There's a personal residence on the south end of the campground (appears to be a Highway Patrol officer) so UPS, FedEx, Wyoming Highway Patrol, and other private vehicles transit the campground at all hours. The home occupants did some target shooting while we were there. Law enforcement patrolled the area once or twice per day. The two fishing docks are in great shape. The pit toilets are also in acceptable shape. As you can see from overhead imagery, there is almost no shade so bring your own. Free showers are available in open stalls at the Hobo Hot Springs in Saratoga. Check-in is goofy: The envelopes are available at the first kiosk. (Bring your own pen to fill out the envelope.) Then you take the envelope to the nearby toilet building and stuff it through a slit in the door on the backside of the building. One set of instructions says to put the envelope tag in your vehicle. Another set says to put the tag on your tent/RV. ORV noise is pretty consistent throughout the day as folks play in the sand dunes across the lake. A low level of persistent road noise from Hwy 130 can be heard 24 hours per day. The "paved" road getting to the campground is an absolute mess so go slow. There's an abundant variety of birds for bird watchers. We saw ospreys catching fish directly in front of our tent site, watched American storks close by, and listened to marsh wrens serenade us all day long.

I just called ahead of our arrival to the number provided. Brenda (the sweetest woman) answered the phone and assured me they NEVER fill up. Not even on the 4th of July weekend. No time limit on stay. It is $15 per day cash or check in the envelope. We will be rolling in on Sunday May 22, 2022. We will write a review and post picture. We are traveling in a 38' 5th wheel. Looking forward to discover Saratoga. Blessings.

The water at the campground is labeled unpotable. If you need water, both the Conoco and Kum & Go in town have it. The Conoco charges 35 cents per gallon even if you buy gas. The Kum & Go offered it complimentary with a gas purchase.
