Nice campground, 8 miles from I40. Easy access for big rigs. We showed up without a reservation, and it was busier than I expected for a Tuesday. Not all sites accommodate long rigs, but we found that some that were listed on the web site for 30 foot rigs were plenty long for our 43’ rig. Quiet, well kept, and pretty.

We stayed here one night May 2023 and found it to be very pleasant! It is clean & quiet, located well away from town & extremely dark at night. We did not realize that not EVERY site has water hook-up right there exactly at that site, but no problem! There is a place right across from the nice, clean bath house where you can fill your fresh tank as needed. We enjoyed hiking down along the trail that follows the shoreline. Sites are spaced out pretty well as there are few trees up on the Rocky Point loop, which is the top of a hill. Not much to do other than hike a bit, cook dinner, & wake up to pink dawn over the lake, but perfect for our purposes.

We had a great night. It was quiet and beautiful. We stayed in site B4 in a 44 foot 5th wheel It’s a pull through but we had to back in because there a tree that’s pretty close and we didn’t want to chance trying to go around it. It was still really easy to do. We had a nice view of the lake from this spot too.

Wildlife has been pretty cool; mule deer, grey wolf or possibly a very large healthy coyote, jack rabbits, birds geese, ducks. Thorns everywhere; Goathead thorns are a problem mostly at the campground. Our dog constantly got them in his paws walk around CG but on trails we didn’t get many. Had to watch him. Wish we had some booties.

We enjoyed a couple of nights at this park. The bathrooms and showers were well maintained and clean. Our children really enjoyed the park. We had the chance to check out the trails off our look which was a fun little adventure. The boat launch is an easy bike ride from the campground.
