Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park

We stayed here for 2 nights, Memorial Day Weekend 2023. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Laundry facility included 4 washers and 4 dryers. The sites are somewhat close together, but the do have buddy sites, so that if you have two parties staying together, your doors can face each other and you can share picnic tables. The 1st night of our stay we experienced a tremendous thunder/lightening/rain storm. Chris was out early the next morning, regrading all of the gravel driveway/roads in the park. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We called about 20 minutes from the RV campground for a reservation. Everything was easy. We showed-up, meet the owner who is a very nice person that will try to accommodate you as much as possible. Got our site and the way we went. Very easy access, good power and water. This place was so quiet and peaceful. They also have a very nice restaurant that can deliver to your site. I would highly recommend this Campground.
PS they also gave us a discount with Good Sam.

When I made the reservation I was advised they do not have dump at the sites but there is a central dump. I was given a “site in the back” which is fine. Interesting the front sites have dump at the sites. I asked why I was given a site without it I was told”no sites in the back have dump”. I did not chose this site, it was assigned to me.

Also, the showers are bad, I posted a few photos. I think this place may be ok for an overnight but anything else, absolutely not

Easy to make reservation on the phone - Chris will call you back in good time. Easy access from I-40. Decent signage. All dirt roads and sites. Some trees and bushes so not just a parking lot. We had 50 amp and water as requested. Open sky able to connect satellite. Easy to get level, easy access to utilities. Tasty BBQ dinner delivered to our rig - note they are only open from 5-6:30 and last order taken at 6. Quiet at night. We were parked right under the big light so if you need darker you'll want to park elsewhere.

The accommodations were fine although I never used the bathhouse. The manager got upset at someone charging a Tesla without asking. I get that. But he went from campsite to campsite ranting. He told us how many guns and ammo he had to take care of the situation. He drove his golf cart around like a vigilante ready at act. I would stay anyplace else. But whatever you do don’t upset him.

We have a 22’ trailer. The site #38 allowed us to pull through and not unhook. All the sites are spacious. There is not shade it’s New Mexico. The have a decent BBQ restaurant on site. It was nice to not have to cook. Overall this is well worth it. The people are friendly. We didn’t use the facilities so I don’t know their condition no negatives to report.

Wow this is a RV Park everyone needs stay at during their RV trip.

We checked in after hours which was very easy. Chis the owner stopped by our site to make sure everything was OK. He went well above and beyond to assist us to fix our electrical problem. Chris is what all owners need to be: “truly caring for their customers”. My family and I are truly grateful for his kindness. Now my family can enjoy a cool A/C evening and continue to have a wonderful family trip along Route 66.
