We stayed here on our last night after traveling the west for a week. My husband and I both agreed staying here was a highlight of our trip. Everything was so next level. We’re going to come back to this area just to stay at this campground again. What an awesome way to end our weeklong trip. Do not hesitate to stay here!

This is a great place to get away from it all. Lovely and disconnected from the rest of the world.

Stayed here mid-Oct of 2022.
Site type: Back-in, FHU, 50 AMP, Eucalyptus Isle
THE GOOD
Location: Gas pumps only 2 miles down the road 24-hour, restaurants on site
Location: You are right on rt 1 and there is no shortage of beautiful views and experiences.
Sites: Spacious paved spots. Very large grass living areas within the trees behind the site. The living space on the side of the site feels really close to neighbors hookups, but again the back of the site was VERY spacious.
Grounds: Clean and nicely maintained! Really cute decorations for the season and a happy family environment.
Office/Store/Restaurants: Good sized store. Some grocery items and a good amount of RV stuff. Lots of gifts available. The restaurants (2 of them) were both quite good.
Wifi: Worked fairly well. Especially considering the campground was 100% booked up. And they are even upgrading it further.
Facilities: Bathrooms were clean and really nice (showers could use an upgrade for the $$)
Facilities: There is a sauna on site, which is nice.
THE BAD:
Facilities-Laundry: Older washers and dryers. Worked well enough but seem like they should be much better considering the cost.
Facilities-Showers: Same comment as the washers/dryers. Much nicer showers exist at other campgrounds which charge much less. Just an expectation that comes with the resort and cost in my opinion.
Party campers: Surprisingly some campers in the isle behind us were playing music REALLY loud. The campground could have done a better job at moderating that, considering the protected nature preserve (and other campers' respect)
COULD BE BETTER: Not good or bad
Location: Groceries are 25 min away. But that is entirely a reflection of the beautiful protected area within which the campground resides.
Vacation-camper-specific: Several campers on different occasions walking through our site. Comes with the vacationers though because they aren't familiar with the etiquette,

This is absolutely the nicest full hook-up site we’ve ever had: beautiful grounds with lots of Monterey cypress, a view of the ocean, gourmet farm fresh food in the restaurant, etc. A rocky beach is right across the street with elephant seals and interesting California native plants. We were here the last week of January and there were already beautiful wildflowers. It is outrageously expensive but given the location and obvious investments made to create and keep this resort going, I can’t really fault them for that. There is a lodge and cabins which means that we can invite our non-camping friends to share our vacation. However, the camping sites are too close together and privacy is seriously lacking. We mostly boondock so maybe we are overly sensitive but another 5-10 feet between sites would have felt less intrusive. Nevertheless, I’m sure we will be back for special occasions.

The highs
Great location
Phenomenal on-site restaurant
Peek-a-boo white water ocean view
Amazing landscape w/ CA Natives
Comfort station - one with sauna All with outdoor fire pit
Wonderful outdoor common area with entertainment
Easy access to neighboring cities
The lows
Zip signage for entrance (either direction!)- nearly missed, which would have been a struggle to u-turn down the way!
Site 4.5” off level - side to side!!!
Almost zero Wi-Fi (and there were only 3 coaches in Eucalyptus!!!/Whalers cove)
Zip AT&T coverage. Made everything much more difficult!!!
Zip cell coverage in surrounding area
Eucalyptus /whalers cove sites are VERY narrow (neighbors picknick bench was almost backing to our coach!!!
High water pressure - bring regulator or be doomed
Sewage connection at our site was very high - no gravity flow.
Two 2+ Hour power outages during storm (can’t really fault them - it happens)
Coast Village section had much nicer/wider/more private sites with Webber BBQ, raiser fire pit and chairs on paver patio.
Just not sure it was worth the $$$ spent

Four main loops for RVs.
-Seascape loop is nice but >$140/night and not necessarily level or private.
-Cost Village loop has some wonderful sites and some bad sites. Ex- site 49 is great (spacious with good access to hookups), but 46 is poor (small site with hookups that need super long hoses to connect, I needed a 20ft sewer hose and a 25ft water hose). Same price for both.
-Whale loop is for pull throughs and looks ok
-Eucalyptus loop is mostly long term residents. It’s also next to the corral so flies and ticks are an issue.
That said, it’s a great location for beach trips and mountain hikes. Your luck for site assignment is what makes your trip worth the high cost.

It was nice, great glamming spot with easy access to nature and the convenience of on site restaurants and store. Our site had zero privacy because it backs on to the main campsite road so lots of car and foot traffic.
Due to power outage we only had power for 12 hours for our 2 night stay.

Restrooms are well maintained, wifi is decent, and the on-site restaurant is fabulous. The spa was closed when we there but hopefully someday soon can open up again.
They had some great live music one night we were there in early December and that was a lot of fun even while social distancing was in effect.
The main drawback is that sites are really close to one another. So when it’s full, you really feel it. Next time we may spring foe the pricey sites just to have the extra space.

This is very remote on Highway 1 between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay, just south of the lighthouse.
Great tide pools and huge starfish at the Lighthouse tide pools and saw whales.
The location is very remote and phone service is sketchy at best along with limited wifi. The best wifi is just outside the general store. Other than that you are off the grid.
We were in the first RV section which is the premium and it has large level pads with a patio, nice table and four chairs, 2 lounge Adirondack chairs for the fire pit, and a Weber gas grill. There is a huge common area in the middle with green grass and most sites have a great view of the ocean, although it's further away than it appears.
There are two trails to the beach - both are about a mile. No dogs allowed on the beach.
Lots of kids riding bikes so be very careful driving. This is one of the most kid-friendly places I have ever camped. The entire complex is huge with RV camping, dozens of glamping tents plus a lodge. There are great showers and bathrooms scattered throughout and each has a wood-burning fireplace in the "comfort center".
The laundry room was out of order so that was a real issue when you are counting on it and no town is close by.
No guests allowed.
