“Very good”

Reviewed Jan 22, 2018

Overall Rating

Reasonable price, we stayed in overflow area for $15.00 a night with electric. Friendly staff, very clean restrooms, pay hot showers were $1, and clean laundry room area.Yuma was about 5 minutes away. Yuma has a very nice municipal park with a linear park, great for biking. Huge playground if you have kids. We spent most of our time at the park. We tried several Mexican restaurants in town, Mr. G's was our favorite, cheap and good, generous portions. The campground wasn't all that dog friendly, some areas off limits to dogs. Would stay there again.

“Pretty good when you need facilities!”

Reviewed Apr 19, 2016

We normally boondock without facilities but it became too hot (mid April) so we needed a cheap place with electricity to run our air-con while leaving our cat to simmer gently while visiting Yuma to go into Los Algodones Mexico for reading glasses (we would normally stay out at Ogilby Road BLM). The GPS found this place, just north of Yuma but still in California. They normally charge $29 but offered us a spot for $15 for just water/elec but because they had plenty of room (out of season) they gave us a spot for ‘full hookup’ anyway, which they allowed us to use to dump when we left. There is a separate dump station, presumably free for guests.
It’s a nice big place, with different sections for different categories (eg one area for those earning a living while Rving; full-time stayers, etc). We wanted Wifi (extra $1/day) so they gave us a spot nearer the office, but it was patchy when in demand. Phones worked but unsure of signal strength. There is one General Store along the road. Scrap yard opposite (if so inclined!).
Some noise, not unbearable, from distant goods trains horns through the night, vehicles speeding past adjacent road, and an occasional low-frequency hum from a nearby building. They have a Games Room, small swimming pool (not tried), laundry ($2 wash, $1-75 drier), event room (large tables were useful for a project we had to do). Place is kept very clean and tidy.
Overall quiet OK.
