Stayed here for the second time in a year. It is just amazing. Beautiful views, private sites and reasonable rates. Only charge for the 10 hookup sites, the rest are free.

The free sites are gravel, and the paid are paved. No problem getting our 27 ft travel trailer into a nice spot. We chose to do free. The views are not only beautiful, but the bathrooms are cleaned daily. Toilets are flush, and they have free showers. What more could you want for a free spot?!
We left off a star because it can get very windy. We experience 25-30 mph winds a few days. But we did have a lot of calm days as well. Really enjoyed our stay here!

Site was a mess! Cigarette butts everywhere. Had to be at least 3 chain smokers stayed in this site. The butts we’re old and probably had been there for a couple weeks. Old dried up dog poop everywhere. But the views were great.

Worth the detour... if traveling through Amarillo on 40 or heading to or from Colorado on 87, Lake Meredith is a great stop. Needed electrical with the Labor Day weekend heat and was able to get one of the electric sites at Sanford-Yake same day. Barry at the Wright-On Bait, Tackle & Watercraft Rental (concessionaire) was great. Only the 10 electric\water sites have fees. All others like all of the Lake Meredith sites are first come free.

Nice location. Site was close to dry camping sites and the noise from another camper's generator was not good. The Dump Station was full! First time in our camping experience that a Dump Station has been full. Another camper at the Dump Station said that he has seen the Dump Station full before. Luckily we did have to dump.

Firstly. Data is only on top of hill sites. Most of our providers worked for voice, even Cricket & ATT. Visible could do 5 meg. With positioned antenna, I managed to double this for Visible. Verizon proper was 80 meg. T-Mobile 5G hotspot not exactly a screamer. Has dump station and fresh water station for Boondockers. Paid sites up... more

Has dump station and fresh water station for Boondockers. Paid sites up to 50amp + water. Seems to fill up on weekends. No shade, so air conditioning worked hard.
On dam, so bring boat & other toys. Did not use facilities so no comment

Sites are very well spaced apart for privacy. SUPER quite . Like strangely quite for how busy it gets. Tackle / convenience store is handy to have for misc things too

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is that our hook ups had to come under our 5th wheel to plug in. Fortunately our cord and hose was long enough. The bathrooms & shower were clean as well as the entire site. I want to thank Blair for all of his help! We had a slide that wouldn’t pull in and he went out of his way to help. ... more

We stayed here for a week in April 2021. We had visited the Fritch Fortress up the road but it was full, so we came here.
There are a few sites that can be reserved online that have hookups, but we were looking for boondocking locations. The ground can be pretty uneven at times, but overall access wasn't too hard.
Each site had a covered picnic table and there were dumpsters and garbage cans all over.
The fresh water and flush water at the dump had their hose ends cut off. The water pressure was so strong that it blew the metal fitting out of a Water Badit. I ended up getting fresh water from one of the hookup sites when nobody was on it.
