So, is it OK overnight or not? Seems to be some difference of opinion.

Very convenient as a quick stop if you just need to crash for a night. Full service from Verizon. Beautiful view of the river. However it’s just a gravel parking lot with a bathroom and you can heat highway and train traffic loudly. Served me for what I needed though!

It was a decent place to overnight while enroute but unfortunately army corps of engineer officer knocked on our door at 6:45AM to tell us no overnight camping. He was pleasant about it and acknowledged that there has been some confusion about one night being ok. He confirmed only group permit camping but said they weren't even permitting that currently (maybe the virus concerns?). So, even one night is not OK. He said we didn't have to rush out of there and did mention that any of the turnouts along that highway were legal for up to 12 hours if we needed to overnight here in the future.
Luckily we were already up and preparing to get on the road since my wife had to work online and there was not even a spec of t-mobile service to get online. It was the morning of writing this review.

If you want to stay more then one night you have to call the number posted by the bathrooms to register. It says group camping only, we arrived late afternoon, and decided to take our chances. There was one camper, he was a local and told us we will be fine to say overnight and we were. Yes it’s very close to the highway but if that do... more

There was one camper, he was a local and told us we will be fine to say overnight and we were. Yes it’s very close to the highway but if that doesn’t bother you it will be okay. Nice view of Columbia River.

No camping signs and Corps of Engineers website now lists it as a day use only area. Exception, you can reserve a group area with the local rangers.

This is a very pretty little area on the river with a great swimming beach. It is right on the highway so if noise bothers you, this won't work. However, there are so long termers here (or they might rotate in and out for the 14 day rule) but not the most desirable looking characters or trailers. Camping in a tent away from that trailer area might be fine in the summer. It really is a pretty little place.
