“Nice park!”

Reviewed Jul 10, 2019

Stayed here in the West Loop 6/28/19 to 6/30/19. I was really impressed with this park. My site was huge and each site has a picnic table under a pavilion and a fire ring. Swimming in the reservoir was a lot of fun as well. I used this park as a base to visit Zion and the night before my power kept going out. I was concerned becaus... more

This is not a family place at all. People driving dirt bikes and atv’s all hours of the night. They sound like they’re having a competition on who can be the loudest. They drive that crap right by our tent at 930-1130 pm and later. I’m trying to get babies to sleep and other campsites are idiots drinking and blasting radio as loud as p... more

“Awesome campground with stunning views and plenty to do.”

Sand Hollow is a GREAT (west)campground. I wouldn't call it tranquil but the scenery is a amazing and every site has a spectacular view. Sites are HUGE, our 40ft class-A looked tiny sitting there. We could have fit at least another RV and a car end to end in our site. Full hookups in most sites (if this is important to you verify on th... more

“Loved Sand Hollow”

Reviewed May 15, 2019

Stayed there a week in March 2019. Still a little chilly but loved the area and lots of room between sites. Any site would have been fine with us. This one had full hookup. Felt very safe there. The reservoir was beautiful. We took our kayaks there another time. This time in March was too cold still for us to kayak and enjoy it.... more

“PRIMITIVE AREA REVIEW: Dispersed camping by the water for a steep fee. ”

Reviewed May 14, 2019

Overall Rating

With the main campground full, we were happy to find a decent spot in the primitive area at Sand Hollow. The primitive area is a huge sandy swath along the far side of the reservoir with a few firepits and picnic tables scattered about. There are pit toilets near the day use area, but nothing further along. Similar to boondocking, the... more

“Wonderful campground”

Reviewed Apr 12, 2019

Overall Rating

We stayed here to visit Zion National Park. There were closer campgrounds but I had liked the reviews of this one. My expectations were exceeded. With a 43' fifth wheel, we have to be very careful about claims of big rig friendly. This park is well laid out with paved roads that are all wide enough for maneuvering with ease. Each site ... more

Reviewed Apr 09, 2019

What a beautiful place. Coming from Southern California, we are used to tight packed stalls and very busy campgrounds. Our campsite (13) backed the foothills where our dog was able to run and dig to her hearts content. We had a nice view of the water and of the endless red sand. If you are bothered by noise, the Sand Pit camp area ... more

We moved here from one of our favorites - Snow Canyon State Park, and were pleasantly surprised. For a man-made lake, this place is pretty cool. I think it's very popular with the OHV crowds, especially in the summer, but there were tons of sites open and we hardly had any neighbors. It was super cold out this time of year, so maybe that's why it was so calm and quiet. We spent three full days here, and every day was uniquely d... more
