The picnic tables had shade coverings but one was completely missing. If there was a bathroom, it looked closed but there was a port-a-pot. Honestly, being there for just 1 night, we didn't need either of them.
I did do a walk-around for a video and the goatheads were horrific. Pets need booties here, absolutely.
I'd 100% come back again, though.

Street signs leading here don’t exist, once you arrive, it looks like it has been abandoned for at least a couple years. Bathrooms are closed and pavilions are left broken

Nice little free park for a quick overnight. Small park but plenty of room for several campers. Each with their own covered picnic table. What a surprise to find free overnight camping. There was a swing set and a dumpster, there were also bathrooms but they were locked for the winter. We did find a few of the goat head spurs on us also. :). I found it to be very quiet and peaceful. Thank you so much San Jon for allowing us to use your park!!!!!

We agreed with all the great things said about this stop. Except be prepared for the hundreds of “goat head” spurs that will stick to the tires and soles of your shoes. Pets and kids are going to hate them!
Also, there are rumble strips on the nearby road that may bother your sleep.

What a lovely little park! So nice of this community to provide a free spot for travelers. We put a tent up next to our car, there were maybe 4 other spots taken when we were there. Highly recommend.

I stayed one night while passing through. The site was empty & the bathrooms were clean. Enjoyed walking around to take pictures. Pitched a tent next to my car. Would definitely stay again

Well maintained city park right off of I40 big rig friendly, really nice for an over night stop there’s not much around but there is a gas station. The bathrooms are nice and clean… we were close the road so it was a little noisy I think a spot at the back would be a little quieter.

This little park is just like the other reviews have said. Clean, quiet, level and lots of room for maneuvering a big rig. Granted, we were there during one helluvu a wind storm that shook the trailer all night long, but we were able to easily reposition ourselves to get out of the cross winds and use some juniper trees as a bit of a wind break. The swings were fun to play on for a bit and the abandoned Route 66 motel and gas station were just a short walk away and very interesting to go look at. Neat place! We wish there were more places like this. (And the bathrooms were open and extremely clean for a city park.)

This park is only about a mile off of i-40. It's a nice quiet park with space for six or eight RVs. There are no amenities at all. It's a great place to watch the sunset.
