The restrooms are still closed “for the winter” despite it being April, but we are self contained and wouldn’t be using them anyway. For a self sufficient RV or campervan that just needs a clean safe place to dry camp for a night, this is a great spot. We’re so grateful to cities like San Jon that provide places like this.

This was an ok spot. Bathrooms still locked in early April and porta potty was pretty gross. Lots of little trash around. It was noisy with lots of lights. On the positive, it was level, free, not crowded, and the cell service is good!

We pulled in after dark and there was one other RV there. Easy to drive around but it is dirt and there are some ruts. We ended up driving in and after scoping it out, turned around and pulled up to the dumpster where we could level out and put our slide out. This is a wonderful option that is fairly quiet (some truck stop and highway noise when outside but didn't bother us inside). There is dumpsters for trash and a bathroom which is cleaned daily (hosed out even as we witnessed the next morning). There are no lights in the mens room so make sure to bring your own after dark. We love that this is made available for RVers passing through the area; thank you San Jon! Also, there is a small old playground there as well with teeter totters and those metal animals on big springs and such - reminded me of playgrounds of old so I'm sure use at your own risk.

Got in really late, but the area was calm and it was easy to pull in to. Only one other car while I was there. The bathrooms were clean. I got some gas at the gas station down the road the next day and some food for the road from an Indian place nextdoor. I would 100% come back here!

I arrived at 5p. One other car with a tent set up on the grass. The town of San Jon is tiny, but this free camping spot is nice!

This was a nice simple stopover. It is right off the road but the noise wasn’t bothersome. I travel alone and I felt safe. There were two other campers and a rotary club next door with a full parking lot. The restrooms were very clean.

It is what is is: small community park, no hook up but has bathrooms. No rules and not specific sites. We had for other parties join us on the night we stayed. Is well lit. We felt completely safe and comfortable. Mild highway noise but overall very quiet. A pretty cool little place.
