“Quiet, Pleasant, But Awful Bathhouses”

Reviewed 5/14/2023

Days stayed: 3
Site Number: 11
RV Length: 17' (Travel Trailer)
Overall Rating

Quiet On opening weekend. Sites are a mix of field, shaded, and partly shaded. Bathrooms are atrocious - stall doors have no locks, metal fittings are rusty, paint is peeling, showers are lukewarm and temp cannot be changed. They aren’t really dirty, just poorly maintained. The site was level, it’s septic post on the site plugged with cement, its electric box a bit rusty, it’s fire ring filled with leaves from last fall. CT has some really fine recreational facilities - its state parks and conservation lands are first-rate - but it needs to pay more attention and put some money into its few state-run campgrounds!

Staff is friendly and helpful.
The kids loved the pools! One of the pools is only 3 feet deep so the younger kids have a safe place to play. The water was crystal clear. Small playground area for the children.
Make sure you get a site with full hookups because the shower house is not great.
The electricity runs on the low side so you have to be strategic when running the a/c.
After the 4th of July crowds left it was a pleasant place to be. Before that, it was overcrowded and noisy with loud music coming from different sides of the park.
Over all, we enjoyed our stay here.
