We stayed here last weekend in the Apple Orchard Primitive camping section - self-contained boon docking - with no hookups. Spacious sites with miles of trails for hiking and biking. Lots of fishing available on the lake. We loved this campground and you will too if you want to get away from the busy noisy RV campgrounds. Enjoyed the bumpy 13 mile Bloodroot trail - better for hiking than for biking. Nearby there is a very nice paved bike pathway from Wabash to Largo.
Salamonie Lake also has a full-hookup modern campground area. We biked around it and it was nice also if you prefer full or partial hookup. Great Indiana location for boaters, hikers, bikers and those who want to enjoy nature.
Russcape would stay here again

Definitely a park for boaters. We were one of the very few without a boat. Great marina and launches. There are a handful of shorter sites with excellent water views. Otherwise, typical Indiana state park. Terrible cell reception. All Indiana parks need to spend some money on bathhouses.

This campground was close to a place where I had an appointment the following day. Booked my stay online easily a few days in advance. Campground was not hard to find and once you get here everything is very well marked. Campground is loaded with excellent level gravel spots including mine. Some spots are tucked away into the woods while others are out in the open and yet a few have a view of the water. Some of the campsites are not so level. None of the sites have water, cable or internet. My site has 30 Amp service, other sites have 50 Amp available. Very well maintained. Very nice with the lake and surrounding forest. Peaceful with decent spacing between campsites.

Stayed for one night in mid December 2020. A beautiful campground with a few loops right on the lake/river. Self-pay rate for an electric site was a dumb $17.12. Yes, twelve cents. I figure those who overpay by 88 cents and those who underpay by 12 cents balances out in the end. Dump station available at the entrance. 30 amp was ... more

Spent one night here on a trip across the country. Used a primitive site with no hookups. Sites are gravel pads with mostly level grassy parking. Sites are big enough to accommodate large RV's. Pit toilets were average in cleanliness. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

What a change waking up here from our stay at the Airstream factory in Jackson Center Ohio. Very quiet simple park and would definitely stay again. We had a fantastic spot on the water.
