Helpful and friendly staff at the campground. Easy parking with plenty of space around the site. The only drawback is no septic. But they have a good dump station.

The quiet hours I believe are 10pm-7. I have little ones that had A hard time sleeping. The campground after a certain time allows anyone to go in to visit other campers. After I called several times. They finally said something. There’s no alcohol allowed on the grounds and they were definitely drunk. I know from the past that they use to tell you that you had to leave.

My first site was too far away from the water & electric connection. I asked to be moved and it was handled perfectly.
I thought it was a bit expensive for a state park.
4 dump stations was a plus. Check in process was a bit slow, even with a reservation.

The park location is great: salt marsh, Merrimack River, Atlantic Ocean. Long flat beach to walk on at low tide.
And that's the best thing about this place. It is understaffed: on a saturday when the park was full up, there was one office person, no park rangers, and so no crowd control or anyone to enforce any type of regulation. So the site right next to me has a long trailer, 2 trucks, a car, and a boat. I literally have the boat parked about a foot from my trailer. Quiet hours are not enforced at all either, so don't expect things to quiet down till midnight. With care and maintenance, this would be a great park. As it is now, I won't be back after this trip. Mass should do better than this for $48/night for out-of-state campers.

Great for a beach campground.

It's all about location here - situated on a peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean, Merimac River and Black Rock Creek. Lots of opportunity for walking, beaching, fishing and more. Very lovely here.
But the campground itself is tolerable, at best. Fairly closely packed back-in sites with shared power pedestals and water spigots. Some are too far away to reach without extensions. Sites range from 50A, 30A and 20a sites - but the electrical uncharge is the same for all.
So don't expect too much feeling of privacy here, or feeling like you're in a well maintained campground. It definitely has an older run down feeling to it.
Charges are a base fee ($22 for residents, $27 for non), plus $4 for water and $6 for electric (not optional). Then a $2 trust fee.
All and all, not a bad stop. But also not a favorite.
