“Nice Gravel Bar. Quiet”
Reviewed 7/4/2023
The parking lot was packed. We opted for the gravel bar. Incredibly quiet even for the holiday.

You can pull into one of the boat parking sites (good for big rigs), can back into one of the designated campsites around the perimeter of the boat parking area (these have fire rings), or you can continue down the gravel lane, around the point and camp on the gravel bar along the river itself like we did. Great camping there with less mosquitos!

The site has vault toilets and dumpsters but only a water pump. We pulled in to an open lot and parked in the rear out of the way. The front end of the lot filled up with boaters quickly over the weekend. There are two sites with fire rings on the parameter and we eventually moved to one if these as the area continue to fill with boat trailers.
I also noticed a fifth wheel and class C enter and head directly for the overflow parking areas. Upon further investigation I saw campers in that area alongside the river in a wonderful spot and not the parking area we paid $105 to stay in.
So if you'd rather be in that situation, head for the overflow parking areas, after you see a vault toilet, go left at the fork and the road will open up into a nice large area by the river to camp.
No matter where toy camp you will hear traffic from the highway which is muted by the sound of the air boats. Didn't know these were of any use outside of the Everglades in Florida but they are very popular here and loud.
