The road in was a touch rutted for a 2wd and had some kind of sharp rocks but we made it with our 87 Chevy Vandura fine going slow. Nobody else there! Beautiful tiny hike up the hill behind the sites to watch the sunset. Great free camping! Highly recommend

We were the only ones around. We did not go down the little gully that some mentioned. We could could have but it looked rainy and we didn’t want to risk it. It was a beautiful area. There were a lot of flies!!

This place was absolutely amazing. Plenty of room to find your perfect spot. Plenty of walking areas. It was a bit bumping in one little area on the ride in because there is a drive over a old creek. Highly recommend this spot and I will def be back! They also had trash cans on the way out.

We loved this spot. Be careful when you're coming in since you have to cross what looks like a dried stream. It's pretty steep with sharp rocks. We loved this spot. Be careful when you're coming in since you have to cross what looks like a dried stream. It's pretty steep with sharp rocks. My Promaster van made it ok but had a little wheel slippage on our way out. There was no cell service since you are completely surrounded by large hills. We hiked half way up one and finally got a single bar which was enough to make some calls. We were the only ones there besides the cows. Plenty of space since you basically make your own spot. Would definitely go back.

“Not A Place We’d Choose To Stay”
noted 3/15/2023
We drove in to inspect this since there weren’t many reviews on all the sites we found this on. There was someone living there with two large bull dogs protecting their camper. There was no cell signal and it was very dusty and close to the main road.
“BEWARE!! ”

We pulled in here to stay for the night, as we have at countless other dispersed camping spots across the western United States. We never even put the truck in park, turned around and left immediately. There is an old dilapidated camper a couple hundred yards to the right as you pull in that looks like it had been abandoned years ago, with trees and brush growing all up around it. As we started driving by my husband noticed the bushes thrashing wildly and we thought it was a deer or something like that. It was a chained dog. There were at least two more chained pit bulls surrounding this camper. Then a man’s head poked out of the odorless doorway of that camper. Nope. Not happening. We left immediately. My guess? A meth lab. He had no vehicle so someone is delivering supplies. I doubt they come from the grocery store. Be careful here. I’ll report this to the forest service tomorrow.
