We made sure to arrive before lunch after reading how popular this place was. When we arrived there were 4 open sites, we chose #3 and by the time we got level and put the slide out the other 3 spots were full and people were circling. We arrived on Monday October 9th.
No cell service, which didn’t bother us one but. We enjoyed the 20min drive to Great Basin and scored a last minute Cave Tour which really made our day. Diesel prices are INSANE paying $5.69 but only two gas stations in a 40mile radius.
Only downside was the class C’s that parked in the road making it difficult for RV’s in proper spots to leave. Please be mindful of where you park! The spots here are HUGE and have a lovely grill, fire ring and gazebo. We left this morning after 3 nights and woke up to frozen windows on the truck! Will stay again hands down.

Great sot right off the highway, hard to believe it’s free! We went to the top of the hill and set up. Beautiful star gazing spot! No service with Verizon or T-Mobile.

The upper camping area has the cleanest vaults as the lower area gets a lot of use. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Fantastic spot to overnight.

The next day we did a tour of Lehmans cave and it was wonderful!!! If you’re going to Grand Basin you should definitely do the tour.
The next night a few ramadas opened up so we snagged one in the back. Very private.
There is a pond that’s stocked with trout but I believe you need a license to fish. There is also a vault toilet and large trash receptacle.
Views are gorgeous and there’s hardly any traffic on the highway so it’s pretty quiet at night.

AT&T coverage was poor, with 0 to 1 bar of 5GE and speeds of only 0.3 MB/s. We had access all 3 western DISH satellites and Starlink had speeds were up to 11 MB/s.

By far the best site I found in the area (that was open in mid April). Huge easily accessible spots complete with their own covered picnic tables, fire rings and grills. Not too bad vault toilet at the entrance and a small pond. Beautiful views of both sunset and sunrise. Definitely tailored for RVs as there isn’t any privacy.

Planned to stay here one or two nights while visiting Great Basin NP. The grounds are very clean. Small stocked fishing pond, spacious sites with patios and covered tables. BLM camping can not really get any better than this!

Stopped here a couple of times to work. Great picnic table with tree shade but open enough for a good Starlink signal without obstructions. Fairly clean pit toilets. Highly recommend!

We passed through the area in late May 2021 and stopped planning to spend a night. Unfortunately there was NO Verizon cell service. We moved on to Ward Mountain Campground near Ely and Verizon was great there.
