We were the closest site to the restrooms, showers and laundry. The restrooms were very clean with hot water and great pressure. The washers were $1.50 and the dryers $1.00. They both worked great and only had to dry clothes once.
The had outdoor yard games and a camp store. The staff were friendly. The internet was good.
The water pressure to the sites was terrible. (Which is why the 4-star rating.) We questioned several campers, so it wasn't just us.
This is a beautiful park and close to Dubuque. Right on the border of Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. We kept crossing borders in our excursions.
The "Field of Dreams" movie site is close and free. They do ask for a donation. Suggested at $20 a car, which was worth it to us.
Also nearby was the Fenelon Elevator $4 round trip for adults.
There is also a riverwalk in in Dubuque which was free to do with museums, aquarium, river boats and hands on activities. It was VERY nice to be able to do all that at no cost.
We would definitely stay here again!

Hello.
Yes, this is a beautiful site, We are in site 36, and we would recommend sites along the back 40...meaning sites 32-38. Other sites have full sun. And the pull through sites....well you better enjoy your neighbor. They have overlapping slides and awning.
The website states that the store is full of everything you need, but this is not a true statement. They have nothing that is mission critical. No food, eggs, butter, bread, etc. These can be had by driving a short distance to Dickeyville. A small mom & pop store has everything! And the workers were super nice!
Lastly, road noise. Yep, this is a real thing here at the Rustic Barn. You can here the traffic from the nearby highway all night long.
The shower house is old and outdated. They really need an upgrade.
The picnic table needs a serious overhaul. Ours was wobbly and needed a lot of bolt tightening.
While this might sound critical...it really is a nice campground. They just need to pay a bit more attention to detail.
Oh, lastly, the firewood, well it is dry and will burn. Do not hesitate to buy the bundles from the campsite!

We found the Rustic Barn Campground to be an excellent place to stay. We stayed only a single night while making our way across country in our class c. Sites are gravel for the RV, reasonably level, and well maintained. Or site was a back in site. Hookups are in good condition. Electrical and water was shared with the neighbor behind us. Each site had plenty of grassy area with a table and firepit. There were plenty of large trees. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
There was a pool that we observed being used daily. A playgrounds was available along with a grassy area containing several games. Showers and laundry are available.
Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Monument are within 15 miles. A steam train ride is available at nearby Hill City. The area features many other attractions and activities and the campground is in the middle of it all.
We found this to be an excellent place to stay. We will stay again when traveling this way.

The sites are well- spaced with gravel pads and grass for areas in between. Some have a bit of an incline, but not overly so.
The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Bathroom facilities are well maintained and very clean.
Wifi is fast with several nodes, including one behind site 34. Speed test from inside the camper: 47 down. 26 up with 8ms latency ATT 2 bars 4G.
The town has several typical Wisconsin bar/restaurants for a night out. Dubuque is close, and a 25 min drive to all things Galena.
Overall a great place, highly recommended
