We looked at other camping on FS 5130 out of Winthrop (Flat, Nice, and Honeymoon) There was only 1 camper at Flat Campground, no one at Nice and we had Ruffed Grouse all to ourselves.
Nice, clean pit toilets, no water, no cell.
Biting flies, but a slight breeze made it more pleasant.
Small creek beside campground although access is brushy. We filtered some water to supplement what we brought.
Some shade is provided by towering ponderosa pines.
New picnic tables and fire rings although fires are banned for now.
Access to great hiking in the area.
Side note: There were many great dispersed camping sites available as well.
Wgonsho would stay here again
