The road up was nice but it was dark by the time I got there. Missed all the nice scenery until the next day. Also missed the train track right behind the campground. Did NOT miss the train at 1:00 AM!
It was ok for an overnight in October. Summer would be awful.

Wide open paved lot, tent camping along the curbs. Good overnighter. Train goes by, but does not blow horn, so not to bothersome. 1-2 max a day/night in Sep. Flies come seasonal and in Sep there were a lot.

Roza Campground is BLM land- $15 for a night or half-price if you have an America the Beautiful Pass.
Pros- Gorgeous view of the river and rolling mountains
Nice amenities (four clean vault toilets, boat launch ramp, lots of grills, each campsite has its own fire pit and picnic table)
Intermittent T-mobile connection with our phones, but great connection with a T-mobile wireless modem with antennae (30/down, 5/up)
Cons- it’s a bit noisy (trains and chatty geese!)
The campsites themselves are literally just spaces in an asphalt parking lot and are pretty close together. When we visited in the wintertime, there were only a couple other campers, so there was plenty of space- but I imagine it could get quite cozy during busier times.
Verdict- can’t wait to come back!

Roza is at the head of Yakima Canyon and is a decent overnight but not great. Basically a paved lot with a boat ramp and some tent camping sites right next to the parking. Only 6 camping spots. It’s a good overnight. And we had good luck with AT&T, especially our hot spot with a MIMO antenna. Verizon was non-existent and a friend said T-Mobile was barely able to make a call or text.
Regular price is $15:night but if you have the America the Beautiful National Parks pass, you get half off. So we paid $7.50.
There are dumpsters and clean vault toilets. Fire rings and picnic tables. A boat launch. But not much outside of the river here and no real hiking or biking trails.
Mostly quiet but trains run by a few times a day and are rather loud.
