Rocky Pond Campground

After reading the last review about residential campers I called the contact number on the website. She said that the workers for the nearby windmill fields were utilizing several of the spots. They were however leaving so there were several spots that were available. We stayed in site #9 which was a back in spot. There were other pull through spots available, but I liked being on the end of the row. $20 for full hookup was a great deal. there was a dog park that was handy since I had my dog with us. I was there on a hunting trip with my nephew, so it served its purpose. I'm not sure I would choose to vacation here, but it would be great for an overnight or even a couple of nights if you were needing a place to stop.

We arrived at around 6pm on March 25th to find the entire campground full with residential permanent campers. However, there was a nearby rodeo grounds that was completely deserted. No gate. So we dry camped on flat grass. Quiet, and no one bothered us. Didn’t even unhook. Perhaps Phillipsburg would have been a better choice. It’s closed all winter, and just recently opened for the season, or so they said on the phone.

Easy access, FHU well spaced...full sun. Huge gorgeous lake/pond with walking/biking trail around. Interesting history as a steam train water source. Some pull thru sites some back in. Large park and many spots for covered picnics and fires/bbq. Looks like some new cabins to rent and many ongoing improvements. This place Rocks!! stayed on a Friday night last weekend in October, quiet and saw city patrol passing thru.

This is a great city park to camp at overnite. The bathrooms are old. We did have full hookups so no issue. They are building a new bath house. Looks like they have plans to add more sites as well.

The do have a dump station as well so if you need one it's here!

Very quiet and still cool enough to sleep with window open.

They have a 110 and 50 amp so if you have a 30 amp trailer like us bring your adapter.

We liked this park!

We have stayed at this park for several years as we travel from MN to points west/south.
Since our last stay they have upgraded the view of the pond, added a huge fenced dog park.
The pull though spots are 75’ so no need to take off our car trailer.
Very level.

Water is in the ground, with insulation this time of year.
We have a fondness for this town and the park. They are busy decorating the entire park for a Christmas light show. We were here once for that lighted event!
Belleville has fun shops, super fun restored theater, and great downtown planters.
