Does anyone know if the dump station at Rocky Point is within or outside of the campground? Where is it specifically?

RE: site 109 - Do I see the pics right? The picnic table and campfire area is behind your rig??

Wow, what a lake! This is our first time visiting Almanor and we cannot wait to get back. This huge lake is clean, clear and a good temp in late June. There are a ton of people playing on the lake with ski boats, fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boards and jet skis.
This campground features long beaches perfect for families to use during the day. Shallow water means that kids can swim safely. We SUP’d multiple times per day and the smooth water makes it easy. Gorgeous views of the pine filled hills and Mount Lassen in the distance. Highly recommend getting into the water for sunset!
Site 105 is lovely. Very private with unobstructed views of the lake. A short walk to the water’s edge.
Pit toilets are clean. No showers or sinks. Surprised to see no trash cans - just two large dumpsters for the entire campground. The maintenance crew does a good job and is friendly.
Nice and quiet campground aside from occasional road noise.

Bigger rigs will have to choose carefully as there are not many waterfront sites with enough room. Water spigots are located throughout the park Did not use the restrooms so no comment on that, dump station very nice and clean, $7 fee even for campers but I found a $5 bill laying on the ground there, so score! Due to the virus the sites were first come, they were not taking reservations. Usually this is a very hard campground to score a waterfront site but we got lucky probably due to the virus and the wildfires. Due to the fires the view was hazy most days but cleared up beautifully on our last day, of course. Lake level was lower than our last visit so it was a 100 yard hike to waters edge. We set up an EZ-UP at waters edge and left the kayaks overnight, very safe.

I woke up early on the first day you could book sites online and managed to grab Site 109 - which I think is the best site in the campground. This site is fantastic. You basically have your own beach. The only downside is that the concrete pad is quite small, meaning you don't have much space on the pad around your trailer. Thats not an issue at all because you can just go sit on the beach, but something to be aware of.
We took out our inflatable dingy, and had a blast. Unfortunately we didn't have a boat of jet ski, but these can be rented (and we did) from a location up the road called Major's Outpost.
We also stayed at site 68, which was nice enough, but the water access was limited because it was mud rather than sand / rocks at the shoreline.
They have a dump station which does get pretty busy, but the toilets were all pits, so it was worth the effort to use the toilet in the trailer instead.

I grew up spending my summers on this lovely lake. Fished near the power tower (our name for it), and Hamilton Branch. Rocky Point itself is supposed to be good fishing. Campsites are spotless, and multiple campground hosts make sure the place is orderly. There is a paved 9mile level bike trail at the north end, so don't forget to bring your bikes (or rent them in Chester). From the campground the bike trail starts near spot 24. Campsites are 1st come, 1st served after Labor Day, and the campground closes Oct. 1st for the season. Best to get here during the week before lunch to get the best spots. After all the kiddies are back in school, the place is sooo quiet! Btw, the cost per night is $25, plus $2 per dog.

Brought Wave Runners, anchor right off campsite on beach. Campsites are close together but ok. Mixed sun and shade to support solar.

I have to admit I was a bit nervous towing my 30' long trailer into this campground as I knew it was tight but the payoff was more than worth it. The entrance station was unmanned so we made our way to our site about 2 hours before check-in which is 2PM. No problem.
The interior roads are very tight with some gnarly close turns. My wife got out to spot me on a couple and no problem. I was relieved to see some larger rigs than ours on our loop. We were amazed at our site when we arrived. The lake was full so the water was about 15 feet from the trailer. Sweet! We had our own private sandy beach with campfire ring, picnic table and food storage box. We set up the Easy-up and spent most of our time hanging out here and in the cool, clear water while here. It was hot! We had our kayaks so we unloaded them and left them on the beach so we could launch from the site any time we wanted.
Staff were very friendly and informative, and pretty easy going about dogs or whatever. The camp manager came by with his dog to introduce himself. Dogs should be on a lead except when in the water when they can be free, but it's not strictly enforced. There are no RV hookups and pit toilets are the norm. There are an average amount of water faucets and some have threads so you can fill tanks. You will be dry camping here, so bring your solar or generator if staying awhile in your RV. There is a dump station but we did not use it.
The site we were in was close to the highway so there was some road noise, but it was mostly unnoticeable with the water lapping on the shore. Noise from other campers was negligible. There are power boats on the lake, but the campground has a no wake zone for several hundred yards around it. Perfect for kayaking or just floating around and swimming. The lake water was crystal clear.
This is definitely a do-over.
On Edit: We came back to this same campsite in July of 2018 for a week. Same awesome experience but wanted to add a couple things. We used the dump station and it was fine except they charge $7 for registered campers and $10 for non-campers. There is another brand new, 4 station dump four miles up the Hwy 89 , and 500' on Almanor Drive West, the turn off for the Almanor campgrounds. The cost is only $5 to dump there.
There was more wind this year so we had limited use of the easy-up and our trailer awning, but there was plenty of shade to be had. The lake level was about the same...I think about 97% full. Also the cell service improved over last year, we had 3 bars with 4G LTE data too.
We also had site 107 for our Niece's family and it was nice too. More shade and more wind protection, but also hotter.
