We stayed one night to give us a quick, easy access to the North entrance . We had a beautiful view from our RV site overlooking the town and distant mountain range. Easy walk (even with hill)into town to grab some groceries at the Gardiner Market which we felt had a nice selection for a small town grocery store. Met up with some Elk right in town. We did not use any of the facilities at the park as this was a quick overnight stay. The staff was very friendly .

Wanted to stay longer after we booked. Beautiful views overlooking Yellowstone. Easy drive into the park to visit Lamar Valley and Mammoth Hot Springs.
Did not use the bathrooms but the laundry was $5/wash and dry but several machines.

You are paying a lot for a great view and a very convenient location. Service is average, the restroom never had paper towel, and people drive fast, kicking up a lot of dust. But you do get nightly visits from elk, which is quite cool!
Make sure to book a premium site.

We knew they were all around because we heard them the night before and saw them 50 yards away. So cool!

Many elk in the area. One walked right into our campsite. Just stay your distance and they are fun to watch.
Suggest also a few more trees for shade in summer.

We arrived on a Monday afternoon in October and waited shortly while the people ahead of us were to be escorted to their site and then we were escorted up to the premium sites. If you want some grass and room reserve one of those. The other sites below are much smaller and good for an overnight stay, but they are closer to the laundry and restrooms. As for traffic noise, you hear none of it up here and it’s an easy walk to town to the post office or grocery story if you don’t mind one short hill. If you love seeing Elk then this is the place to be. We had cow elk resting in the grass right outside our trailer door and the bull was fairly close by. Amazing. The cable was strong and so was the WiFi. This is an excellent place to use as a base to do the whole Yellowstone thing. We will be back.

We pulled into this park exhausted and ready to take anything as everything was booked. We were going to stay a couple nights but were sooooooooooooo glad we didn't. The site they gave us was the SMALLEST we have ever been in. The sewer connection for our neighbor was actually UNDER our picnic table. We couldn't believe it. We have full hookups but didn't even stay long enough to dump the next morning we just wanted to get out of there. They have so many rules and regulations it's ridiculous! The laundry facilities was unavailable except by appointment. Check in was ok but we were a little nervous about the guy writing down all of our credit card information outside of the office. I checked later to verify that they would shred it and the gal said they would. The "dog park" was quite a ways away and that is the ONLY place they want dogs to do their business. They don't want you to tie your dog to ANYTHING that they own not even the picnic table. Also you cannot put a grill on the picnic table unless you get a grill pad from them and they charge you for that. They do not allow you to leave ANYTHING outside because they run sprinklers at night? No lawn chairs, nothing. I would not stay here again if you paid me.

They kicked us out with nowhere to go!
We booked online and selected non RV pickup topper option, entered our length and all the details they asked for and confirmed our reservation.
No tents, perfect, we don't use tents.
We arrived that evening exited for our simple electric only, no water stay.
We parked in the check in spot and the lady made eye contact as I exited our rig.
I checked in got all the access information site number all was good.
We back into our small site and started to set up.
After this they could see my non white wife and they sent the camp host over to ask us to leave.
We pleaded with them to just let us stay one night but they refused. He felt bad and said if I don't make you leave they will make me leave. The lady in the radio asking if we left yet .
Again we headed that every where else was completely full and thorning was a available. They refused and made us leave.
We asked why and they said our rig did not meet the requients because it was not certified RV. However the website has non RV option, the lady saw we where not an RV and there where other non certified RV type vehicles there. It was only after they saw my wife that they made up this new rule.
Everything else was full from other RV places to forest service sites. Grizly country so food lock boxes where required.
How horrible do people have to be to treat other this way. Where is the humanity?
