All of the spots are nice and level, but are very muddy during a heavy rain. Beautiful views and very close the wine district of Elgin. No established hiking trails, but we hiked up to the west going up the wash on the south side of Road Canyon and enjoyed the nice easy hike.
Slow, but useable T-Mobile signal, great for solar and Starlink.

Here on Road Canyon, there are 4 sites, we were in the third site, which is the largest of the 4. Site was nice and level, and we were able to hike up the wash to the west and on another day we hiked up the road to the north. Beautiful views of the mountains to the west and lots of coyotes hooping and hollering. Wonderful place to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are a few individual sites south of this road along the main road coming in from Hwy 82. As a sign states coming in, this is a working ranch and there are some cattle roaming the area.

This area of BLM land is very picturesque and beautiful. Although it was very windy, the scenery was spectacular. We were camping during a very busy spring break season but there is enough room to spread out and enjoy the solitude of the land. A visit to the historic ranch is worth the time. There is a source of water and toilets at the historic site. We hiked and biked the area and enjoyed the bucolic nature of the grazing cattle. This is a great stop just south of Tucson.

I really thought I'd be ok but it rained for 14 hours straight and my car could not get traction. I have good tires, the mud was just tricky. Besides that it was wonderful. It was beautiful. I took a nap in my car under a beautiful blue sky surrounded by grasses. I had a small fire. No stars due to the overcast but it was quiet. Some of the best sleep I have ever had. An occasional truck but that's it.
Bring a shovel. You'll have to poop in a hole if you dont have an RV.
Big thanks to Jerry, who unstuck me! You're my hero!

Hate putting flags on this area, having it mostly to myself. Does get windy and hot, but that goes with the territory. My only big concern, is the tall dry grass catching fire. I found a few used open fire pits that made me wonder about late at night having the need to run. So I choose my campsite away from tall grass as much as possible with a quick get away in mind.
No phone service, but could text ever so often. no issues here. glad to get away from all of it.
