Overall Rating

We stayed here on a Saturday night while travelling south to Illinois. It is a large city park - everything is nicely maintained and freshly mowed. There are about 24 grass-covered sites with electric and water and all appear pretty level. The bathrooms have flush toilets and were quite clean. The large brick building also has a rooom with two shower stalls, plus a pay box as each shower costs 4 quarters. It also serves as a storm shelter. The price can’t be beat - $20 including electric and water, $15 for no services. There are train tracks that run right alongside the park so you will hear train noise. There are lots of public areas including a nature trail, a baseball field and several large shelters for group events. There were lots of people here on a Saturday, including an outdoor wedding on the grass beside the river.
