Forest Service Road 555 is the WRONG way to go to reach this lovely campground. The first ten minutes from Banks-Lowman Road are on an extremely precarious, narrow road - don't look down! - and definitely not for boats or RVs. Explore alternative routes; I know there are at least a couple of them.

When I reserved Site 2 online, we were promised space to fit an RV. It didn't even fit our two small tents! Fortunately, we were able to move over to a larger and more remote spot. The mouth of the Deadwood River flowing into the Reservoir made for a lovely view, but our view was also crowded with lots of boaters and some raucous campers both in our campground and across the river.
