I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel and parked in site #21 which is a 30A E/W PT spot. A small city park near their ballfields and the river. Roads/sites were gravel. It was easy to get around the park. Sites have one utility pole that two RV’s share so you are lined up very close, but in opposite directions. My bedroom slide almost touched my neighbor’s DR window which is not ideal. The site was not long enough for my trailer and the truck. The park was not full so I just parked in an empty spot across the road. There was a tree next to #21 which did provide some shade for my picnic table. A small handful of OTA stations were available, Verizon had 2 bars and no wifi. Bathrooms (no showers) were up a hill in the main area of the park. Ok, clean but old. The cold water didn’t work in one bathroom sink. They limit you to a stay of 5 nights, but since the CG wasn’t full, I stayed an extra two days to finish up some basic maintenance and planning. There is a self serve kiosk where you pay and get a ticket. No dump station at the park, but there is one in town at 401 Alexander St. There is also a large recycling center where they take everything. This was a great place to stop before going on down the road to North Cascades NP.

Not much river access but a great dog park across the street. 30 amp service and water and a great free dump station a mile away. We will be back when visiting the North Cascades, Mt Vernon, La Conner and Anacortes.

The trail is about a 1/2 mile from the campgrounds.

This is a city park along the Skagit River. Complex includes sports fields, dog park, playground, and boat launch. We spent 2 nights here after taking possession of our Escape 21 at the border in Sumas. We needed time to organize-move things from our truck and into the trailer-and to get familiar with our new trailer. The location off Hwy 20 (North Cascades Hwy) suited us, as we were headed east afterwards. Close to Mt. Vernon for shopping, laundry, car wash, etc. Both pull-through and back-in sites available. There were only a handful of
other RVs there on 9/25 and 9/26. There was a camp host on site.
Payment was at a self-service kiosk by the camp host - credit or debit card only. Sites are close together- don’t expect privacy during busy times. There is a restroom with flush toilets nearby. Reliable 30 amp power and good tasting water. Free dump station is only a few blocks away at the city wastewater treatment facility.

In the past when we've visited the Skagit Valley, we've stayed in Anacortes at Washington Park, but this time I wanted to be closer to the east side of Mount Vernon and wanted less shade since it's been a very drippy trip thus far. Riverfront is a very basic city rv park with $15 fees for w/e and $10 for the tent sites. They will do reservations, but when I called they said reservations are rarely necessary. What they didn't say is that this place would likely be a zoo during the Loggerodeo week. We were here Monday-Thursday in mid June and the place was significantly less than 1/2 full.
The road through the park is gravel as are the level pads. The rest of the wide-open park is grass that is nicely mowed and a handful of trees. There are back to back pull-throughs in the center, and back-in spots against River Road. We selected a back-in spot. Since this park is in the flood plain, the power boxes are on posts about 8' off the ground. Each post has three steps mounted at the base so you can plug in. The water supply is mounted at normal height. Outside of the RV park, but in the same complex are some sports fields and a boat launch for the fast-flowing Skagit River. Across the street is a large dog park.
Connectivity on both Verizon and AT&T was poor, but the Verizon bumped to 4 bars with the amplifier. The park is easy to access, but any route you take involves city streets, so it's not speedy access. The location is right along the Skagit River, but there's a dike between the RV park and the river so there isn't any view. River Road, on the other side of the park was very quiet with minimal traffic - none noticed at night.
There is no dump at the park, but the city has a dump available. Since we're moving to a different location for the weekend, we'll leverage a dump in Mt. Vernon that's on the way, so I can't tell you about the city's facility.
All told, it's nothing exciting and certainly not a destination resort, but it's a convenient place to stay at an extremely competitive price while we visit some very old haunts.
