Not sure what the deal is with this one. We pulled in and were surprised to find a completely full park. Hard to believe that a city park like this would be full mid February in southern KANSAS. The sites are “doubles” meaning there are two very close sites that share hook ups, with grass in between the sets. Many had “staked claim” over both spots by parking vehicles or setting up their “lawn” in the second spot. The campground was filled with older run down rigs with trash, items everywhere, and there was tons of traffic even in our “flyby” through the park. Lots of folks living here for sure.
Wouldn’t have even stayed had a spot been available.

Simple FHU/50amp campground in a safe place. Bonus, the city brings a trash can and drops it near your site. The Dalton gang historical town story is interesting. The Dalton gang historical town story is interesting. The story of the 2007 flood and empty neighborhood is sad, eerie, and makes for interesting photographs in the right light.
Wal-Mart is an easy 1 mile drive, as is everything else in town.
A park and locomotive are in walking distance.
Be aware that the campground area tends to have slow draining puddles after rain, especially the older 30 amp area.
Our only wish was a lack of Home Depot/Lowe's as we were doing some remodeling to the RV, ended up driving to Bartlesville (Lowe's) a couple of times.
Trains at times but not overly loud.
Boosted Cellular:
Verizon - 23.9 Mbps Down, 11.8 Mbps Up
ATT - 20.5 Mbps Down, 10.4 Mbps Up
Lionheart Adventures would stay here again

Rivercrest Campground and The Woods Campground are both at the county fairground, in Walter Johnson Park. Rivercrest has full hookups, and The Woods has water and electric. I stayed 1 night at Rivercrest. It was very quiet and pleasant. There were only 4 other campers, one of whom turned out to be from my home town 1,200 miles away. The only negatives were that my 30A outlet did not work, and I had to plug into the next site over, and there were deep potholes in Wood Street, the access road. I left a note about both issues in the payment box. Coffeyville's claim to fame is as the town where the Dalton gang were finally apprehended, but if you like quirky stuff, go to Dexter, where you will find the Helium Memorial Park, with the capped gas well from 1903 where helium was first discovered on earth in usable quantities, leading to Kansas and the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles becoming the worldwide center of the helium production industry for the next century. There is a good Mexican restaurant, El Pueblito, on the main road.
John T would stay here again
