Overview of Ringold Springs Recreation Site
Ringold Springs Recreation Site is situated along the Columbia River just south of Hanford Reach National Monument and is a popular place for camping and fishing. The park is located 25 miles north of the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland, WA) and is maintained by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). Ringold Springs campsites are first-come, first-served with a maximum stay of 3 nights in a 7 day period. Campers should be aware that the Ringold Springs camping area does not have hookups or potable water (dry camping) but the park does offer vault toilets and a boat launch.
A Washington State Discover Pass or WDFW Vehicle Access Pass is required to camp at Ringold Springs. Washington State Discover Passes can be purchased online and provide access to additional state lands, including state parks. The Vehicle Access Pass provides access only to WDFW lands and is obtained with the purchase of a hunting and fishing license.

We were here May 26, spent quite a bit of time trying to find this place (Google gave wrong directions). The large parking lot near the boat ramp was available but was not appealing at all. We found the Columbia river to be very high and there were only 2 semi-private places to camp, there was no beach at all. No place to walk except on the gravel road, no views around the camp site, actually no views at all. The weeds had been mowed but were still about 5 inches tall, some with stiff, sharp stalks (hard on our dog's feet). There was a bag of trash that had been mowed and spread a bit. We did not check the vault toilet that was down the road a bit. It was very buggy, including no-see-ums. At other times of the year, with fewer bugs and lower flow on the river it might be nicer.

I called the Fish & Wildlife office yesterday & was told the campsite is closed to overnight guests due to fire risk.
It’s so dry out there they are concerned car exhausts or generators could start fires.
Needless to say we were very disappointed.

Watching the Columbia flow by just below the Hanford reach. Many goslings and their parents patrolling the shore. Popular this weekend but plenty of room. To get Tmobile 2 bars had to be next to the river but be careful. The river rose a foot overnight. One bar or no service at a safer distance.

Pulling in was a bit confusing where you could park, we didn’t see anything marked. We chose to be down by the water but far enough (75 feet) in case the tide came up. We saw 2 cars of people who stayed and hour or two but that’s it and there’s a lot of space so didnt affect us at all.
Was very peaceful except a few boats that came up the river occasionally. The mosquitoes were bad once the sun went down & citronella did not keep them at bay.
The clear sky left us looking up at an amazing star blanket.

The upper camp area before pit toilets seemed like a nice place but there arent any defined sites so crowding could be an issue if there's a lot of people. As it stands, we were alone the whole weekend with only a couple folks driving in and back out.
Love this area of WA. Totally peaceful with just the birds singing. Big ole owl lives down there. Heard his hoots and saw him in the tree.
Spotty T-Mobile. Would benefit from a booster.
Sign says No Fires. Not sure if that includes those in a grill or just ground fires. We decided not to have a fire because of that.

Great site to camp, brought in the spanking new 26 foot Outdoors RV for its break-in voyage from the local RV dealer. Be very aware that this time of year is tick season and they are very hungry and let's just say over 30 were on my pup in a matter of an hour.

We needed a night to park our RV, wanted something for free. This is a beautiful area, this specific location is a long gravel road with not a lot of area to pull off. There are two restrooms (pit toilet) and there is space to park there. It’s by a river, but you can’t park on the river. We drove our 38’ fifth wheel in and it was a little tough with low branches but not horrible. We were about to turn around at the end of the road and park. If someone else would have been there, that could have been tricky! Bugs are HORRIBLE at night, you cannot hang out outside. Gnats constantly surround your face, an area seems to be used often by fishermen. Peaceful and quiet, we were the only ones there on a Friday night in June.

Drove up here from Richland to get away from the RV parks in town. There are two sections that allow camping and each has a vault toilet. Be sure to check the river level. Decent cell coverage on AT&T and Verizon.
