We stayed a week here in July. The campground is gorgeous! A lot of trees, walking paths, and trails. There is a beach, boat ramp, and plenty of green spaces. I don't think there really is a bad sight here. The sites are spread large and spread out. There are bathrooms and showers available, though we did not use them. It is very hard to get a site here, so make sure you are trying to book exactly when sites are released. Plenty of sites that could fit our 44 ft fifth wheel as well. No bugs either, huge plus! One of our favorite campgrounds we have been to.
Internet was a bit slow for working full time. Tmobile did not work reliably. Can't use starlink due to trees. Verizon varied from 3 to 15 down depending on time of day which makes conferences difficult.

Beautiful campground right on the water. Nice-sized, wooded sites. No pull-throughs so the big dogs won’t make it, but great for mid-size.
Swimming hole is very gradual and perfect for young children. Play structure, beach volleyball, basketball for kids also.
Definitely stay again.

It is reservation only but you can reserve the day you arrive on recreation.gov. Good enough Verizon service to do this right from the campground. Or you can park in the boat launch area while you make your reservation.

Whelp: impeccably manicured big sites w/ full hookups, super clean bathrooms, free hot showers, ripping fast 4G (Verizon) huge play structure for the kids, sandy swimming beach, picnic shade structure w/ grills, beach volleyball courts, only $30/night, friendly staff and locals, I could go on. Have never experienced anything like this in CA - wish all campgrounds were this good!

Must make reservations on Recreation.gov, can make them once you get there if there are open sites. Only downfall is the highway noice as this is next to the highway. Sites on opposite side are not quite as noisy. Sound is not as bad on the weekend’s though, my speculation is road is traveled for work. Also can hear the lumber mill machinery at times too.

We were close to the restroom, and a easy walk to the lake. They have a little area for people to keep kayaks (you can lock them to things they have in the ground and you can pull a motor boat in there too. Pretty lake with good fishing. There are a few sites with a slight water view. There is a swim beach, nice boat ramp and the best Huckleberry ice cream up the street at the gas station. Enjoyed the stay relaxing.
You can book 6 months in advance.
Other than someone locking there dog in the camper all day & left, the dog barked all day long. Shame on those people it's nerve racking to listen to that. The playground isn't near the campsites which is nice keeps it quiet.

We didn’t have resv but was able to get a walk-in site that we scoped out the night before. Sites are staggered which makes it nice. Trash bins located nearby. We didn’t need the nice/clean restrooms or showers (.25 per 5 min). Loved having elec and water. No extra charge! Dump coming in and going out! We also had Verizon cellular data!
I ran my fan to block any outside noise if there was any! Lol!
Only Wish there was a gate at the entrance of Doggie Island. It is on a peninsula with trees, picnic tables, fire pits and deck. Problem is with being an off leash park, dogs will chase bikes and ppl on the other side of the bridge.. UGH!
Great walking trails right out your site and along the river. No bikes after dark.
The entrance is closed from 10 pm until 7am. We liked that idea. This campground is monitored very well.
Great hosts as well!
Hope to come here again!

After checking out Springy Point campground that was almost full (and also super tight) the host suggested we come here. We were lucky enough to snag the last open walk-in site. There are two loops, both with nice gravel back in sites. Some sites you can reserve and some are walk-in only. There are bathhouses in the middle of both loops with pay showers (25 cents for 5 mins), large sink for doing dishes and bathrooms. All sites have water and power hook ups. The sites are beautifully wooded with tall trees so your solar gain here would be small (but they have hook ups so it doesn’t really matter). Throughout the campground there are paved walking/biking trails. The trails lead over to a public boat launch, beach and playground. If you have kids, this campground is perfect and easy to get around! Sandpoint is about a 20 minute drive away and there is plenty to check out there. A convenient store a mile away also rents movies.
One downside is that even though you are a mile drive off the main road, the road is just over the river so we still hear traffic. There is definitely a night shift at the mill down the road because we would occasionally hear beeping (like a truck backing up) at night.
We didn't check specifics, but we did get great cell reception with Verizon.
