“Nice Clean Free Campground, Vault Toilets”

Overall Rating

This is a nice campground for a rest from the road. It is also a local park for dog walking, boat ramp for fishing and bike riding spot, with a playground and two vault toilets. So many local run through to enjoy. There are 8 fairly level spots, about 1/2 will fit big rigs. The road was good all the way in and it says it’s under surveillance.

Your stay 72 hours and you must have a permit to camp here. If you need electric it’s $10 a night.

The new signs don’t tell you how to get a permit. I finally found the info on the original post by the boat ramp.

Here it is for you:
Richland county law center
300 12th Ave NW, Sidnev, MT 59270
(406) 433.2919

You have to drive into Sidney 6 miles away to get your permit.

My recommendation is to pull in and check for availability, then drive to the Law center in Sidney, MT. If you are able to you can hold your spot with your camper and drive another vehicle to town.
You will need your drivers license and license plate number to get your permit.

It is quiet and peaceful here!

You do need to go to the Richland County sheriff's office to get a permit to stay. But you can park 1st and then go to get your permit. You can stay up to 72 hours before you have to get another permit.

There is access to the river. We don't have a boat so unsure of how big a boat you can put in at the ramp.

The kids were able to catch some fish from the bank. It has a really great playground for kids.
Our site was very large. You are not parked very close to anyone else. Which is really nice!

They are working on getting electricity posts to be available. But when we were there we did not have access to it. Unsure if they will begin charging for the sites once electric is up and running.

There are no pull through sites but we were able to easily maneuver into the camping spot we chose.
The road loops around the campground, and the road is well maintained.

There are no reservations and it is 1st come 1st serve.

Random vehicles drive-through the park well into the evening. Usually just people doing some country driving I guess. Families do bring their kids to the playground randomly throughout the day.

We really enjoyed every time we have stayed here!
