The campsite is quiet and has 2 vault toilets but this is a great area for primitive camping.

We took our popup camper here. Roads were a little rough but doable. Have to take 8 miles of dirt to get to campground, no signs to find this hidden gem. We took our popup camper here. Roads were a little rough but doable. Have to take 8 miles of dirt to get to campground, no signs to find this hidden gem. About 20 campsites, and probably 5-10 decent size dispersed camp sites along the route. We chose to camp at the campground and most people were in and our for just one night. We came in the fall and the colors were amazing. Great hiking available close to campground. Not all trails marked real well.
I think they shut the water off at the only water spout in the campground due to colder weather coming (fall season) we brought a water filter and pumped water out of the creek daily and filled out camper from jugs. Was more work but enjoyable. Easy access to river.
No firewood for sale anywhere close and its picked pretty clean from all the campers. Plan to bring your own firewood or travel a little way outside the campground to find good downed wood. Plenty down, just long way to drag.
Great place to go to unwind and enjoy nature.. oh stick bugs galore haha. Id go back. Have to travel 4 miles up the road to get 1 bar of signal or drive almost to witt springs for decent cell signal.
If you bring everything you need, its a great place to camp, just dont plan to find a local walmart or convince store cuz there is none close.

To add to other reviews... leaving the campground, cross the low-water bridge and drive 3+ miles to the top of the ridge. You will have decent cell service with AT&T. I can’t speak for any other providers.
If you are looking for peace and quiet don’t stay here on holiday weekends.

Typical rustic NF campground. Low on amenities, somewhat remote down a few miles of gravel rd. Location is central to many miles of hiking. Some of the best in the state.

There's a 2.5 mile trek which involves crossing two rivers and takes you to twin falls and Richland falls, nice walk and stunning waterfalls at the end. The start of the hike is across Falling Water Creek, next to the campground. If you look across the Creek you can see a large sign showing the trail. The trail itself is well warn and very easy to follow. This place was packed during memorial day weekend, but it emptied out completely during the week. The water spigot was not working, and hadn't been for a while.

Beautiful secluded campground on two creeks with multitudes of water falls in the area. Great swimming hole. sometimes fills up on weekends, but there are also several "dispersed" sites along the road. Awesome scenery and hiking. On the Ozark highlands trail. Research before you go, no good trail directions on site, and deep in the valley, so no cell service. nearest store is Witts Springs which is a half hour plus ride back out. Primitive camping for Vans/truck campers/tent camping, or very small trailers etc. Mountain Roads, but reasonably well maintained.
