Stayed here a couple nights to explore Bozeman and do some fishing on the Madison river. Loved it, and we caught trout. No services. You do hear some traffic but it’s far enough off the highway that it’s not an issue.

Great location for an overnight or fishing/river floating getaway. Sites are good sized. They have pullofff sites for large rigs and river views. Pit toilets were clean and hosts were nice. Can’t beat the price. No cell phone signal at all. I had to use a booster.

The riverside loop is reservable, the highway side looks like FCFS. It will be busy on the weekend by the looks of the reservation placards. Full by the evening in a Tuesday night. Popular place for floating the river. $12, 1/2 price for senior pass, $5 for an extra car up to 3 vehicles per site. The road and sites are gravel, ... more

The road and sites are gravel, picnic tables, fire pits, clean pit toilets, camp host, big rig friendly, little shade

Great campground! Got a site on the river. Best time is Mom-Thursday.. gets busy on weekends. Fish early the floaters take up the river the rest of the day. No hook ups, water available. No cell service either. But can get spotty service at the boat dock few miles east.

Great campground right on the Madison River. Along with the sites at this campground, there are additional sites on the other side of the river and also across the highway. Lots of options but it does get busy on the weekends and no reservations. We arrived on Saturday, stayed the first night off the river and then moved Sunday morning to an open river front site. No hookups but that is just fine for us. Only downside is that both this time and on prior visits there are other campers that bring their super loud construction generators. The camp hosts are great but they do not enforce people dropping off an RV days in advance of a holiday weekend but are not staying there at night. There are a lot of people floating the Madison for the flyfishing and during hot weather the weekend normally brings out the party crowd on tubes.
A couple of tips. First, there is no ATT or Verizon coverage at the campground. Heading up the road about 2.5 mile to the east you can get some Verizon service at the top of the road to the fishing access site. Pretty slim but it was helpful for me with a few messages.
Down the road a few miles to the west is Norris Hot Springs. One of my favorite places in the area with an old wood lined pool that is filled daily from a natural hot spring. Music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Good food with lots produce grown right there. Very relaxing eclectic crowd. They do offer a several full hook up camping sites too.
