Sites are not large, but the hilly, tiered layout of the campground makes it feel a little more spacious. The forest and small lake for swimming are beautiful. I stayed in late June and was greeted by a pickup truck full of VERY happy singing kids, which I followed up the road to my site. Seems like a popular place for families but you could hear a pin drop by 9:30pm. Bathrooms and showers were relatively clean considering the onslaught of children. Bonus points for amazing stars and dark skies at night.

Lovely sites that are level and spacious. Plenty of room between sites. Very quiet and nestled in the trees for a pleasant camping experience

Sand at the beach was like quick sand because they just did some maintenance (it was kind of fun! Probably not like that during peak season!)

Relatively small campground (60 sites)....all with electric but no water or sewer. The campground bathrooms and showers were clean and modern. Heavily wooded campground with mostly hemlock pine trees. Located in a valley between two ridges. Most sites accommodate RVs with some tent-only sites. We have a 25 ft trailer and had no problems getting around. No ranger check-in station or campground gate....drive right to your campsite. Park has trails and a lake with sandy beach with a nearby concession stand for buying food. Park trails can get steep leading up to the adjacent ridges and lead to PA's Mid State Trail that runs through most of the state (and the park) SW to NE...so long hikes are possible. We found a couple geocaches in the park even though we were not looking for them (not well hidden). We liked the small park and campground. We'd come back. Most sites are wooded and relatively close to adjacent sites....we had our neighbor's untended fire smoke drifting into our campsite all day one day. Our site #24 was pretty level and large and gravel covered (though some other sites are sloped). Park and campground roads are relatively narrow (park road only about 1.5 lanes wide and one-way campground road just 1 lane wide). One sharp turn required in the campground to get from the back loop to the main loop...tight but doable with our 25 ft trailer and a wide turn. We picked up a total of 1 radio station, 0 over-the-air TV stations, and no Verizon cell service at all unless you hike up to the adjacent ridges...bring CDs and DVDs with you. The beach must be popular in non-pandemic times since it's rather large for such a small park....but it was closed this Memorial Day weekend due to COVID-19 restrictions. There is a decent size town of Mifflinburg about 15 minutes away with plenty of stores.
