Pull-through FHU 50 amp. Dirt pad. Site #15
General:
1) Peaceful place.
2) Close to Taos and a few other interesting spots.
3) Some sites have shared connection areas
Campground WiFi: Worked pretty well.
Cell/hotspot using booster: AT&T (3 of 4 bars—4G). Able to work on VPN, Zoom meetings, and stream.
Cell/hotspot using booster: Verizon (3 of 4 bars, sometimes 4 bars—4G). Able to work on VPN, Zoom meetings, and stream.
Details:
Check-in: Normal KOA checkin at office. Simple and easy.
Sites: Dirt/ gravel pad. Fairly spacious sites.
Site 19: Was not our site but we noticed that the patio side connects directly to laundry and restrooms, so folks seem to forget their manners and cut through that site's patio spot.
Campground Road: Dirt road but not bumpy.
Grounds: Clean.
Bathrooms/Showers: Very clean and well-maintained.
Laundry: Worked well. 4 washers. 4 dryers. Washers were a touch smaller than normal, if that is of a concern to you.
Location: Gas 3 min from entrance. Restaurants are about 5 min away.
Restaurants—Alfonso's: I had never tried gas station tacos/burritos until this location and they were pretty darn good. Similar experience to having a McDonalds/Taco Bell/etc at a gas stop.
Near highway: Yes. Close but cannot hear the interstate. The KOA is directly off of a main road so there is a touch noise during the day.
Near train: Not that I recall.

Small park, mostly dirt with some gravel. Needs to be re-graveled. A bit run down. Pull thru sites are set up like buddy sites but hoop-ups are weirdly spaced. You need to park really close to hook-ups so then you are very close to your neighbor.

AT&T cell service was perfectly fine. No problem streaming. Wi-Fi was available, but didn’t connect straight away. I suspect it wouldn’t be a problem, I just didn’t mess with it since AT&T signal was strong enough for me.
The shower was clean as were the restrooms.
The only negatives were, the laundry room was closed for the winter, as was the area to wash dishes. If you need the laundry room, I would call ahead and see if it’s reopened.

Great spot for a sleep over. They have many pull thru sites. Quick in and out. Also has full hookups (and cable).
We found ATT and Verizon had good service. North side of the park had full bars for ATT cell service. Another plus is it's proximity to gas stations.

Ok for overnight. Very friendly staff. Laundry decent. WiFi set up a hassle but ok. Very quiet. Cool evenings which was great after Texas heat. Was able to stream from AT&T LTE.
