Roads are very dark to walk to restrooms in evening, you will need a flashlight as to not trip on large gravel stones on sites and roads .

Rules are not enforced. One rule is that dogs can not be left out unattended. Our neighbor went to work each day and left their dog out. The dog barked a lot throughout the day. Many people cut through sites instead of walking on the roads.

We had a great site with no neighbors on one side. Beautiful site and it was lovely hearing the children playing and laughing. Wi-Fi was very good. Cable had as many channels as home. Cave tour was fun and educational. I would definitely come here again.

Near the raccoon caverns. The only complaint is the showers in the public shower room are made for people that might be 4 foot nine.
There is an adorable calico cat the greets you and comes to visit which was a highlight :-) nice place overall, we would return!

Wish we had stayed longer.

PROS
Reserved 148 days prior to arriving
Valet escort to site after check in
Quiet except for distant train whistles
Clean, small toilet/shower facility with climate controlled
Gravel parking pad surrounded by grass
Small concrete patio with wooden top picnic table
Metal fire ring with cooking grate that was clear of ash and debris upon arrival
Coin operated laundromat in toilet/shower facility. 4 washers and 4 dryers.$2.75 washer;$2 dryer
Campground sells fire wood and delivers to site.$5 for 5 large pieces
Campground staff immediately addressed cable connection problem that we identified upon arrival
Good roadside signage to the park, but deceiving when you turn into a residential neighborhood
Publix and Super Walmart 5 miles away along with Murphy fuel and Dollar Tree
Close to Chickamauga Battlefield and Lookout Mountain Battlefield
Great functioning WIFI (This was the best part of this campground!)
3 bars Verizon
CONS
No senior, veteran or Good Sam discount
Check-in clerk insisted we take pool ID bracelets, review and sign pool rules when we refused to use pool during our 2 night stay and would not permit us to check-in without agreeing to pool rules. We never used the tiny pool!
Campground is basically a field/parking lot with campsites 15 feet from the next site so no privacy from neighbors. Our campsite fire ring was next to the neighbor's sewer connection.
Site 212 sold to us as a deluxe site, at $62/night, which we found no evidence of anything deluxe at our site or in the campground
Site 212 pull-thru was not long enough to keep our tow vehicle connected to our 27ft trailer
Gravel roadways in the campground, which were very dusty
Site 212 unlevel
No shade whatsoever for site 212
Wooden picnic table top warped and not useable
3 toilets, 3 sinks and 3 showers for women. Only facility in campground!
Tiny pool
Pets were not leashed and running throughout campground
Unsupervised kids throwing rocks at vehicles/campers

What a great place! There are two small playgrounds for kids. They are a bit outdated but serve their purpose just fine. There’s a small camp store with beverages, some memorabilia, and a super sweet staff. They also saw propane, firewood, and ice. We had great cell service here as my husband works remotely and was able to hop on video calls whenever he needed to, using both Verizon and the campground Wi-Fi as well. There is also a cavern attached, and they have paying for gems, arrowheads, and fossils too. It’s a great location up in the mountains and Downtown Chattanooga is about 15 minutes away too.

It's nice enough, but it seems like it's been around for 30 years. Lots of shade from big trees, unlike nicer, newer parks. I stayed here in a tent some years back, and it's a decent option to explore Chattanooga.
There was construction going on during the day as they renovate an area of the camp.
There's an enclosed dog area and lots of green space for walking dogs, plus a trail.

I am very very disappointed in this campground! They are miss leading and discriminating! I looked online at the campground website and it looked great. The pictures and reviews were awesome. But AFTER I BOOKED MY STAY ONLINE, the email confirmation came through stating that they do not allow pit bulls or mixes. I went back ans checked their website and found in small print under policies that they do not allow the pit bull breed or mixes. This should be clearly stated in bold letters on their home page so paying customer's can see it prior to booking!. They also have in the fine print that was again not shown until the confirmation email came through is that the campground has a refund policy that states the customer is granted a full refund minus 10%. So...... I booked online then the very next morning called to get a refund and was subject to a 10% non refunded fee all because they are discriminating against my 7year daughters best friend! I will make sure the community of RVer that I belong to all know and understand this campground discriminating politics so they do not have to go through what I am! Key to my rant, DONT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

Customer service at this campground is completely unacceptable. I booked a cabin three months in advance for my son to stay at Raccoon Mountain Campground while attending a music festival in Chattanooga. I told them when I booked the cabin that he was 20 years old and was not told that they had a minimum age requirement of 21 years old.
They drove from Maryland to Tennessee and when they arrived at the campground to check into the cabin they were informed that they could not check in, because he was not 21. The manager said that it was "in the paperwork"; we immediately checked the email confirmation and it says nothing about a minimum age requirement. We have also checked their policy page on the website, and again it is not listed there either. The manager was very confrontational and condescending to them, stating that it is a policy at all campgrounds and hotels that you have to be 21 years old, which I can tell you is not accurate. I fortunately was able to book them a cabin at another campground in the area, who had no issues with him not being 21.
I personally called and spoke to the manager at Raccoon Mountain to try to reach a resolution where I take full responsibility for the cabin, who literally told me that she does not care about where they are going to stay that is not her problem. They originally refused to provide a refund, but changed their stance once we made it clear that it is not stated in the confirmation email or their website.
This could have been handled much better than it was by the staff. Luckily, other campers who were in the office at the time approached him outside to express to them how much they were taken back by the treatment they received and gave them the recommendation for the other campground in the area. When I was speaking to the other campground about the experience, they told me that Raccoon Mountain has been going through a series of management changes and he has heard numerous complaints about them. I would recommend looking into other campgrounds in Chattanooga and staying away from Raccoon Mountain.
