As of 2023 rabbit valley campgrounds are $25 a night. Plus administrative fee. Pretty much the same otherwise. Some roads have been improved. But you don't get much for that kind of money

We have a class A Rv. The map took us to the right spot it’s about ten mins from the freeway. Clean gravel level sites. Make sure to have gas/supplies because it’s 30 mins from stores /gas/dump etc. very quiet, easy and nice sunsets. Next year they will be charging. Verizon had a cell tower close and starlink worked very well.

The new designated campsites are spacious and very well separated - there's probably 50 yards in between. The road was gravel but well maintained without any issues.
No water or dump station available. There is some road noise from i70 at our site, and some unburnt trash in the fire pit.

The air we breath is Free. The sun that shines on our face is Free. But at Rabbit Valley designated Camping Area, what was Free, is changing in 2023. We arrived from Moab a couple of days ago to this site. Nestled in a beautiful valley, green grass and grass covered mountains, we thought we'd found the perfect oasis. So, we headed to Grand Junction CO to provision up. Upon our return, at the entrance of the camping area, sat a Park Ranger. He approached our vehicle with some information. Yes, one has to fill out a document with essentials for camping, but the Ranger informed us that in 2023, what was Free in 2022, is changing. 2023 will bring a camping fee of around $20.00 per night so the Ranger stated. Sites will require a reservation for camping. So, enjoy the free camping season for 2022. Be prepared for 2023.

The main dirt road going in is in great shape and wasn't any problem for our RV.
There are 18 designated campsites in total but there's extra camping in both the entrance parking lot and the large group RV and horse trailer area.
Some of the sites are down smaller roads that are probably better for truck campers and vans.
We got site #16. It was level, a good distance from the other campsites and there was very little noise from the freeway.
I think on the weekend it gets pretty crowded and there are a lot of OHV trails. There's a 7 day camping limit.
We really enjoyed our stay and were able to mountain bike to the Colorado River from our campsite. It's really hard to believe that this camping area is free.

Beautiful natural area! Beautiful views! Easy access with our 40ft 5th wheel. Sites are dirt but huge! Would stay here again! Were several rigs there but we could not see or hear our closest neighbors! We were able to run the generators all night to keep cool! Some road noise, but didn’t bother us!

Read previous reviews here in the app and decided to try it out after a day at Arches. It was an excellent decision. We had the place to ourselves. We had a spot that was closer to the freeway but you didn’t hear it. It was peaceful and we’d go back again for sure.
