Refineries & chemical plants lined the route to this park. Once there it was a perfect 2 nite lay over. I was headed to Crystal Beach but needed to avoid Bolivar until after the huge annual Jeep Party weekend. So I checked out Quintana, Surfside and Brazonia County free beaches. The later two had narrow beaches and Brazonia was just not clean enough for my liking. So we paid up and stayed at Quintana. The staff was amazing! The rest rooms were clean an the beach was pretty clean even through it was well used during the day. I though laundry was a bit expensive at $4.25/load. Overall it was a great place to stay over for a night or two. I especially liked the long granite fishing pier, about a mile walk to the end & the wooden pier. The park does everything it can to warn of the mosquitoes and rightly so. Except for the beach which had a strong wind to deter them, the campgrounds and park pavillons were swamped with biting mosquitoes.

We attempted to use the laundry room but the office doesn’t sell quarters. There were 2 washers and 2 dryers. I believe the ladies room had 4 heads and 4 shower stalls which 1 was wheelchair friendly. Site had picnic table and fire pit. The trash dumpster was quite a walk away esp in the rain “behind site 44”. So I guess if you had a site in the 40s it wasn’t too bad of a walk.

We stayed 2 nights. Enjoyed this campground, it was a short walk to the beach. Be sure to bring the bug spray. The mosquitos was terrible. It was a great price $22.00 a night. We will be coming back again.

Did a shake down run in our new trailer here. I bit away from the busier places in Galveston. Decent space between pads. Not any shade to speak of, but the breeze off the water keeps it from getting too hot. There are mosquitoes of course, bring bug spray. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. Not any shade to speak of, but the breeze off the water keeps it from getting too hot. There are mosquitoes of course, bring bug spray. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. The beach itself is "natural", which means they don't rake the seaweed, unless it gets really bad.
One direction is the dunes, the other direction is oil plants. We made sure we were facing the good scenery. Pretty quiet park overall. Enjoyed out stay. It is well away from any other activities, stores and restaurants though.

We don't like to spend as much as $32 a night (because we are Seniors and have done all our camping so far in the East and Midwest where that is as much as we'd spend on a private RV park) but we were in drastic need of showers and we had laundry that needed to be done. We don't like to spend as much as $32 a night (because we are Seniors and have done all our camping so far in the East and Midwest where that is as much as we'd spend on a private RV park) but we were in drastic need of showers and we had laundry that needed to be done. QBCP has 2 W/D at $1.25 each, the showers were adequate (clean but not sparkling-though wood so hard to tell, OK pressure and lots of hot water). The spaces are laid out nicely so that while there's not a huge amount of space between each space they are staggered so you feel there is. The CG was only about 1/4 full though so at full capacity it may not feel as spacious. The staff is excellent and there is a nice Visitor's Center. The beach is wide and clean. There are cabins to rent up on the slope above the campground that are well kept. Behind the CG are refineries and Brazos Port is right there so you can watch the huge ships come in. All in all, an excellent place for a night or two but TAKE THE BUG SPRAY and watch for snakes. And the only sounds at night are the waves.
