We stayed at Quakertown SRA on Brookville Lake from Thursday to Sunday. Check-in is relatively easy, you'll pass the first guard shack and then make your way into the campground. Even after paying for your site, you'll still need to purchase the $9 entrance fee. You only have to pay it once if staying overnight though, keep your receipt. The campground itself is not large at all. I'm okay with that because I feel a large campground can tend to be chaotic. We filled up at the water station which was only 75 feet from our site. It's good to note that the campground has several water stations located throughout the campground making filling your fresh water tank convenient. Most of the sites are very large and offer a good amount of grassy space. On our site, we were able to fit a 30ft travel trailer and a large 4-person tent with no issue and plenty of room to spare. Both my site and my father's site next to ours were level and required no side-to-side leveling. The concrete pad makes things very easy. Located near our site were a set of restrooms. The restrooms had plumbing but no sinks of any kind, nor did they have any hand sanitizer. The bath house was a little nicer and the water pressure is comparable to that of a pressure washer so be cautious there. Staff would clean the facilities daily so they stayed decently nice. After getting all set up and good to go we walked around the campground to get an idea of sites we may like to book in the future. The campground will allow you to park your boat on your site as long as your site has enough space for it, keep that in mind if you plan to bring a camper and boat. Several of the sites had shorter pads that would only support tent camping or maybe a small pop-up. The campground stayed quiet at night with no crazy parties of unruly campers. DNR would routinely drive through the campgrounds. Quakertown doesn't offer a camp store of any kind, they do sell ice and firewood at the check-in station. The beach was very nice but small. Luckily it wasn't a busy weekend and we were able to snag a good spot and get our canopy all set up for shade. The staff does a good job raking the sand daily. As far as activities for kids go they have what appeared to be a decent playground as well as a basketball hoop. Kids are able to rent different games from the check-in shack as well. Cell phone coverage is very spotty and we were unable to get any channels on our attenea. All and all I enjoyed Quakertown very much and would even return and stay at the same site. Although we made a list of other sites we would like to try as well. If your looking for a big campground full of planned activities and things to do Quakertown is not the place for you, but if State Parks are more your style then I think you'll really enjoy it. Next weekend we are trying Mound SRA and I'm looking forward to comparing the two.
zgetz would stay here again
