Typical state park - small pond for fishing and they do rent boats. No hook ups, no cell service, no WiFi so you’re completely off the grid. Lots of bugs when we were there. The sites are more conducive to tent camping then RVs so choose your site wisely. They tend to be soft dirt too and not too level. Some are uphill. The picnic tables and fire pits have seen better days.
All in all, the park offers wooded sites spaced apart but it wasn’t the most memorable state park we’ve visited. The lack of any cell service for miles is inconvenient.

Being new to the RV community my Wife and I set out for our first journey from our home in Illinois to Maine. Our intention was to find State Park sites with electric but if we had to we would boon dock. We were prepared with a generator and plenty of extra essentials including a spare waste tank and water.
Putnam Pond was on our list of reserved spots and we knew going into it we would be boon docking there.
The park has minimal spots that are semi level and large enough, and so we ended up switching because our 27'er would not fit in our original choice.
Needless to say we were comfortable ........... and alone.
Notes:
Length of stay 2 nights in September
Upon arrival there was no Ranger and a list of reserved spots was posted. We checked in the next morning.
Canoe and kayak rentals were available for $20 a day which I believe was an off season rate.
No Cell, No Radio, and no People.
After leaving Putnam Pond we took the ferry from Ticonderoga to Vermont. Awesome!!
RayV would stay here again
