Thanks for the previous review. Although, it’s not official they would let you camp here. You definitely need to talk with the owner for staying here.

First answer was: no you can’t camp here. But after a nice talk with one of the owners, they let me in for the night.

It’s an incredible place, but you need to be ready to improvise if things are not going as you expect.

I was there with my 2 young kids 3 and 4 and my dog. I put the kids to bed around 9pm and enjoyed the rest of the night by myself with a few locals.

Before you stay.
Understand that you must get permission to stay on the grass areas behind the fences. If you do stay on the grass YOU WILL BE LOCKED IN UNTIL THEY OPEN THE GATES AROUND 10:am OR SO.
This is an outdoor bar with live music and food. So it’s open tell 2:00 am.
They cater to the motorcyclist. Yes they can be noisy. But most of them leave before the sun goes down. It’s an older crowd of bikers.
NOTICE:
This is a bar but the owners are cool.
Talk to the bartender or owners to be allowed to stay overnight on the grass.
There is a place outside one of the gates you can stay if you want to leave early.
They are only open Friday through Sunday.
April to October. Weather depending.
You can stay overnight on Friday or Saturday.
You probably won’t be allowed to stay Sunday night because they are closed on Monday and you will be stuck.
Pets are OK.
Kids are OK. They will learn to throw an axe.

Review:
Drinks are not too expensive and the food is good and hot. Food is available from around 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm under the airplane. The main bar is in the old mill and the beer bar is in front of the stage.
The bathrooms are next to the axe throwing area. Motorcycle parking is mainly in front of the bar. There is a huge grassy area you can park on. It’s nice and flat. It’s extremely clean and no trash.
They do have special events at times and parking can be a problem when they do.
But fear not.
You can always camp at the Heppenal Lock 21 listed in Campendium about 3 miles away.
I had a great time and the band was hoping. They even had a brass section. The band stopped around 10:30pm and you could hardly hear the music or the people after that while at the trailer.
REMEMBER. get permission before hand and enjoy your time.
